Historical map background
What do you guys think of having a historical map of eurasia in 1500 (because it is easier to find maps then than it is for 1470. Like this
This is just an idea, the real map would be the one we've been using, just coloured. Each state would be a light grey and most of them would be the same, as we'd only have to know where the borders between them are, so it's fine if France and Poland-Lithuania have the same grey, but for the Ottomans and Mamluks it would not. Each grey tone would be very similar to each other to preserve as neutral a tone as possible, and for it to not look too busy. No labels either and preferably the Holy Roman Empire should be in one colour.
If so, then the borders will have to be painted onto our map. As it's from Victoria 2 (if I recall), it'll look a bit off, but that's worth it for consistency.
This would add another fresh spin on the 'background story' we're not fighting at giant mess of rebels, but rising nations taking on established states. It could help with role-play, and of course, no ones obligated to use the background nations for deciding their moves.
Armies
Just putting my opinion here. How will they be represented on the map? Small regions are a pain for drawing icons and finding a colour for them will be tricky with factions, icons and my suggestions above.
