Howitzers firing cannister

Are howitzers meant to fire cannister in this mod?

I know that they could in real life, but mine seem to be able to do nothing else, plus I haven't researched cannister yet in my game.

Yes, i made the Howitzers to be primarily canister firing - lobing bombs was never reliable, while using solid shot with howtzer would result in shot dig deep into ground and not doing enough of damage / or if fired straight with very limited range... I believe their main purpose was the canister fire, and thanks to their higher bore, they were quite effective at it..

That's an understatement, I wondered what on earth had happened the first time my howitzers fired. The sad part was that i had placed them behind my line as is my normal habit for howitzers, so the did more damage to my own troops than the enemy.

i just replaced the solid shot with canisters.. firing solid shot from howitzers actually doesn't make any sense especially if fired using upper degrees.. you can still use them behind your lines, just switch to shells instead of "solid" shot which now represents the canister (as description says)
