The one thing that angers me is when a country holds an election/referendum with a clear result and then those that did not like the result demand another one. Those sort of people will continue to demand it until they get the result they want and then would refuse any extra do overs even if the result was the narrowest of wins.

Also, for a much better summary of the campaign, see the angry Salmond twitter. ToS obliged warning: contains some swears.

Westminster's punishment will be swift. There's no legal binding on any of the top ministers to grant these "new powers" to Scotland.

You had one chance to go free as an independent nation, free from the corruption in London, and free to make your way in the world for yourselves. But you were let down by cowards, apologists and those who lack pride, not to mention immigrants who have no heritage at all in Scotland. I'm sorry for you, I truly am. If I was Scottish I would have voted yes

Context Geronimo- Glasgow. the only place where there's trouble. And Glasgow in terms of well...the trouble there...is anyone really surprised? It's Glasgow.

But indeed it's stupidity incarnate. Again why the heck are they out on the streets causing trouble when they won..

True i get the feeling most are blind drunk and decided to cause trouble for the sake of causing trouble (and indeed probably usually do get drunk and cause problems)...but have realized they could rally behind the flags they've been waving. Idiots.

Arguable. This is the man who seems to want to hold onto power at all cost. And *sigh* likewise as i've said you missed the part about this not being a 'loss' by any means. I've debated as a Union supporter for the past two years, and even i can see how Westminster totally messed it up almost, and how (happily) Salmond force concrete concession of devolution from them. It's by no means a defeat or disgrace.

When there is trouble in Glasgow it is the only place you can say that they should NOT kiss and make up.

Celtic vs. Rangers, that's all there really is to it. Using the referendum as an excuse to cause trouble.

Some background on Loyalist extremists in the videos and why they are not representative of most no voters.

Though only consisting of a small fraction of the Scottish population, Scottish loyalism has become more visible through prominent demonstrations of the beliefs of its members since the establishment of a Scottish Parliament. Scottish loyalism is visible through participation at Orange parades with supporters from Rangers, Heart of Midlothian F.C. and Airdrie United. Some loyalists in Scotland also support Ulster paramilitary groups.

Loyalists in Scotland mostly live in small working class enclaves in the major urban centres or industrial villages, notably Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh, Renfrewshire, Fife, West Lothian and Ayrshire. There are relatively few loyalists in areas such as Aberdeen, the Scottish Borders and the Scottish Highlands.

Well I got the Salmond resigning thing totally wrong.

We know the far-right in the UK is always an under the surface problem. It's lucky for us they've never really been more than an embarrassment but stuff like this grabs headlines and damages greater causes. People like this make a mockery of words such as unionism.

But please, let me comment your post, Pinarius:

You consider, as clearly shown by the 'smiles' you used, those who voted 'NO' poor old morons. Well, but can I say that your support for the division of UK, coming from a guy writing from Germany, which is the largest United Nation of the UE, with something like 80 millions of citizen, it's pretty unfair?
Not really. Actually, my uncle is even a member of the separatist Bayernpartei (now a small party, but once bigger than the now ruling CSU), who openly supported the SNP in this case:

Ironically, my uncle has the same last name as wonder cyclist Chris Hoy, who expressed his worries, if Scotland had gone independent.

They then set that flag on fire and have proceeded to cause trouble all night.

I don't know what kind of people win a vote then proceed to try and hurt and intimidate people. If you're wondering what these people might be like have a wee watch (be warned bad language etc): https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10202433758517846

Edit: I also find it very unfair to just dismiss this trouble as 'it's only Glasgow' people have been in that square all week and not a spot of bother until today.
