    Default Colours for Hungarian

For Hungarian units, I have several options.
I could use Red coats, like CA did. Red was used for the Pre Habsburg hungarian army.
In the 1848 revolutionary period, there is a mix of brown jackets, green jackets & blue jackets for the infantry.
Looking at Osprey books for the 18th century Austrian army, Hungarian regiments had some blue on the coats, with laces (like the Insurrectio).

So what do you think I should use?
1 - Same coat as for Hungarian units in the Austrian roster, but red instead of white
2 - Same coat as for Hungarian units in the Austrian roster, but blue instead of white
3 - Same coat as insurrectio, but red instead of blue
4 - Same coat as insurrectio, but darker blue.

    Concerned units are
    - Fusilier
    - Grenadier
    - Insurrectio: they will probably remained similar, but with colored cuffs and colar instead of the full blue they have now.

Well seems as the two colours that represented a Hungarian Unit is red and light blue, I would go with a red coat, because the trousers are already light blue and it might look weird if their whole uniform is that colour.

EDIT: With laces definitely, Hungarians always done that before their coats were homogenised by the Austrians.

The good thing with this emergent or occupied units is since they are not really historical, we have some "artistic" licence to make something that's a bit original but still fits the period and the faction.

Might I suggest a coat similar to the following (Hungarian Regiments during the Seven Years' War, before Homogenisation):

The coat probably isn't appropriate for the period, so maybe designing the the hungarian coat similar to the undercoats shown above?

These coats won't do. First they are not for the correct period, second and more important we don't have mesh easily adaptable for that.
There is an ealry infantry coat, but there won't be the laces as for the hungarian.
I think it's easier to use the insurrectio infantry coat, recolored in red.

I'm ready to spend time to adapt meshes and textures for historical uniforms like Wurttemberg, for which vanilla uniform are not good enough, but for hypothetical emergents, I'd rather go faster and use simple changes of existing uniforms.

Ok, and gold lacing? Just for a bit more variation between the insurrection and line infantry (gold and red would look good together too).

What about the waist sash shown in my other post for the officers? Or maybe a hussar coat for the officers?

    Just giving ideas

I'll probably do some variation on the lacing, colar, cuff, etc. to differentiate between grenadiers and fusilier, and may be officers.
I can also play with more variations on the shako. For emergents and occupied, I don't use multi period, so they'll all have shakos (or Bearskin), this means I can use the helmet slot for more hats.

I'll probably do different shakos for hungary and occupied austrian (for the moment they share the same hats).

Steph since you and your team are working so hard for accuracy and authenticity, I think you should use the Osprey guide unless Prince Essling has found a better source. I have a very strong interest in the Hungarians units thanks so much for your efforts.

I did - some Hungarian books on the development of that nation's uniforms - hence the red suggestion

    PoE,
Well in that case I'll go with it. You work very hard for accuracy. I know very little about the Hungarian uniforms of this period. Nice to have more color too.
    Thanks
