Indeed. I tried to do something myself, the result was particularily ugly. L'Aigle is very talented to make something look sharp and nice.
The Lion on the crest is also nice.

And more importantly, they are proper half cuirass instead of the full cuirasses used by CA, and probably most mods.

Every faction has some differences between the different artillery units. Sometime it's just a different plume, or it's one belt vs two belts, etc.
Great coat vs normal coal seems natural for Austria, as I've seen many illustrations with both, perhaps less with other factions.

Hungarian Hussars are dashing, why couldn't the infantry be colorfull to? And this way they hope to blind the ennemy and prevent him for shooting correctly.

One last thing: hate to be the grammar police, but this bicorn is transverse
    and this one is longitudinal
I was wondering how to correctly name them.

And I like the new cannon textures black looks good
This yellow was not easy to get, and we don't have that many reference pictures.

I have seen a lot of mods using full cuirasses instead half cuirasses for the Austrian Cuirassiers. It annoyed my a lot for some reason.

Yep good point, those blinding fusiliers will be unbeatable.

I was wondering how to correctly name them.
    Your welcome

I understand the difficulty to achieve certain colours, and yellows seem to be the biggest pain.

The French would describe the bicorn worn "en bataille" or in English crossways for battle; or "en colonne" or in English fore & aft for for the march.....

By the way fantastic effort, Steph & L'aigle - very well done...

Ah Well in Roman text they describe their crest either transverse (centurions) or longitudinal (other ranks), which is what I'm used to.

So I guess were waiting for the Hungarian and Occupied Austrians to be finished, then we get to play as these guys?

What about Revolutionary Austria? Do they just have the same troops as the Empire? Same question for UK.

Revolutionary? Do you mean rebels? Or if Austria becomes a republic?

So far I have not changed anything to have different units in republic or monarchy.

I think the best would be to use the "occupied" version.

Anyway, I'm not sure this concept is really interesting. With a campaign starting in 1805, the norm for France was more to create kingdoms than republic.

The Italian republic of 1802 became the Kingdom of Italy in March 1805
The Parthenopean Republic lasted one year before becoming again the Kingdom of Sicily (or Naples)
The Batavian republic became the Kingdom of Holland in 1806. And in 1815, it became the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.

I don't see historical example from 1805 to 1815 which would really support the need for the Revolutionary concept.

To me, keeping the same government and using occupied troops if needed should be sufficient.

Yeah I meant if they became a republic. And thanks for the answer, it's a good one

Talking about rebels, will their be generic units for them (i'm talking about the rebels that have that black flag on the map and not fixed to a faction)?

To be honest i like everything but the korse-hut and the landwher unit design. I do like the details added by you Steph on the korse-hut, but the heigth of the korse hut (for all units that wear it) itself it's wrong i recently noticed, which was made by CA of course it should be made higher as depicted in the landwher picture. Just a suggestion if not possible anymore understandable.

    From your image:
    - Height between jaw line an hat = 61 pixels, height of hat = 79 pixels.

    from my preview
    - Height between jaw line an hat = 45 pixels, height of hat = 61 pixels. To keep the same ratio, it should be
    79/61*45 = 58 pixels.

I tink I'm close enough for the global size. Where you refering to a specific part?

Yup pretty much that, and well some other small details that were made incorrectly by CA for example the height of the flaps at the sides of the hat, in RL they were more pronounced and the frontal part of the hat, the visor (semi-visor whatever you wanna call it), it's linear not folded downwards.

An advisable thing would be to take those meassures you took and convert them in percentages something to consider as well when making units of any nation, because those never change, regardless of the size of the images.

But as i said they are suggestions you might want to consider or not, up to you guys, if not well, doesn't really matter, i just thought to put them on the table regardless of the outcome.

    Cheers.

When I edit a mesh to make a new hat, I tried to use proportion to get the size roughly right, but it remains approximative, and beside I can always stretch the mesh too far, or the texture may look too weird.

May be I can improve the korsekut a little sometime, after I finish Russia

    Close up
Is it possible in the future to replace Cuirassiers and other bodyguards for named generals with staff officers? The Austrian generals who commanded corps and armies had permanent staff officers in green uniforms.

Maybe if I still have a slot available in the atlas, but I think it's already full.
Beside, for the other factions, I have always used an escort of regular cavalry. So that would create some inconsistency.

Thank you for your quick answer. I´m a little bit a fan of Austria in this and earlier periods, it was just a quick idea I fully understand your reasons.
