    Default Current status of the mod and updates history

    This thread is aimed at showing what is the status of the mod: what is finished, what will come in next release, and what is on the roadmap.

    Current status of the mod

    Playable game mods

    After many months (years?) of waiting, we are releasing the first version if Masters of Europe with a playable campaign. Release is planned for early march.

    So for the moment, we work mostly on battle, with complete roster for some faction, and working BAI (or rather BOOM).


    You can play normally:
    • Land battles, with a choice of 3 periods, giving different unit list and uniforms.
    • Naval battles
    • Siege

    I tested only SP games, I did not even tried MP games and I don't know if they work. This is Sirlion's main goal after the release of the campaign.


    You can play as Beta:
    • Single player "Grand campaign": it should be fully playable for every faction.
    • Multi player battles: I'd be interested to know if MoE works with that, so if you want to test why not, but no guarantee it will.

    You should avoid playing:
    • Other campaigns than the "grand campaign": since the unit roster is heavily modified, they will probably not work well.

    The following factions have been finished and are playable in land battles

    • Saxony (includes a bonus unit for minors in Saxon region: Sachsen-Coburg, Sachsen-Gotha, Sachsen-Weimar, Anhalt, Schwarzburg and Reuss)
    • Hessen (includes Hessen Kassel, Hessen Darmstadt, and few Nassau bonus units)
    • Westphalia (includes Berg bonus units, and Lippe/Waldeck)
    • Hannover
    • Oldenburg
    • Mecklenburg
    • Switzerland
    • French Royalist
    • Brittany
    • Ireland
    • Scotland
    • Hungary
    • Courland
    • Cossack Hetmanate
    • Kingdom of Italy
    • Naples
    • Sicily
    • Sardinia
    • Papal States
    • Venetia
    • Savoy
    • Denmark
    • Norway
    • Sweden
    • Poland
    • Spain
    • Portugal
    • Catalonia

    This include some foreign regiments (Vistula legion, Swiss, Croates for France, and KGL, Brunswick for Britain).

    Factions in blue are emergent and cannot be played in the campaign. However, their units can be recruited by the other factions in occupied territory.
    Factions in green are here at the start of the campaign, but not playable. However, their units can be recruited by the other factions in occupied territory.
    Factions in black are playable in the campaign.
    All factions are playable in the custom battle.

    Factions in bold have a full roster of units, with detailed textures and are fully done.
    Factions in plain text have edited textures, but still use colour masks. They are historically correct, but not as nice as when not using a mask. They may be improved in the future.
    Faction in italic have a full roster of units, but are using CA base textures with colour corrections. They are fully playable, but the uniforms are not as nice and historically correct as for the other factions.
    They will be updated later with full detailed uniforms.

    Coming in next release

    Tentative date for next major release : spring 2017

    Units

    • Finalized textures for Hannover, Mecklenburg, Oldenburg and Baden.


    Grand Campaign


    • More consistent Regimental names for new units.
    • Agents: hopefully they will all speak their correct language, and general will have uniforms with the proper colour (historical uniform instead of faction colour)
    • Local support for different faction and influence spreading
    • Reworked building.


    Others


    • Two versions for localisation files : fully localized / English
    • Historical description of units in info card

    Roadmap

    Here is the lists of what I'me working on

    Short term

    Grand campaign:


    • More consistent Regimental names for new units.
    • Agents: hopefully they will all speak their correct language, and general will have uniforms with the proper colour (historical uniform instead of faction colour)
    • Local support for different faction and influence spreading
    • Reworked building.


    Improved faction:

    • Reworked historical description for the units
    • Update texture for Hannover, Mecklenburg, Oldenburg, Baden


    Mid term

    Improved factions:

    Edited textures for Switzerland


    Long term

    New features:
    • Multi player game

    June 2017:
    - Update with correction of a bug where the recruitment became blank if you build the max level buildings in every slot of major cities.

    2017/06/25 minor update



    • Corrections:
      • Added missing variants for Spanish generals: they will no longer show with ETW placeholders graphics in battle.
      • "Cavalry" sound played when artillery fired/hit (very annoying) should no longer happen.
      • Missing icons for buildings

    • Changes:
      • Modified the starpots: each region should have a level 1 barracks, except a few regions. And the capitale of the largest factions can also have cavalry or artillery barracks

    2017/07/29 : Minor update + new installer (beta version)

    Warning: although in terme of in game changes, the update is minor, the update itself is large because I have uploaded full voices pack files, and they are large.


    • Corrections:
      • Fix helmet of the trumpeter for French Chevau Leger lanciers
      • Group formation voice sounds fixed

    • Changes:
      • The voice packs now include the full voices, so you will get national language for every units, and campaign voices in your faction language. No more manual work to avoid the "campaign in English only" problem.
      • Music in battles have been mofidied to use a generic battle ambient sound.

    2017/08/08: minor update of the installer AND the mod



    • Corrections:
      • Checked the stats of units, correction of a few errors, and some balancing
      • The installer should not wrongly say the local date is incorrect if the date format in the regional settings is different from the expected format.

    2017/12/30: minor update of the mod

    Corrections:
      • Fixed: Hesse Darmstadt units not recruitable by France
      • Fixed: Wurttemberg mounted Grenadier Guard have invisible swords when fighting
      • Fixed: Cemaat light janissaries have invisible swords when fighting
      • Fixed: Organ guns for Ottomans don't have a uniform in the campaign
      • Fixed: Black wheels for Ottoman artillery limber.
      • Fixed: Black textures for Ottoman marines.
      • Fixed: Regiment Joseph Napoleon not recruitable in mid 1808
      • Reduce cost of Squares (technology)
