    Leader Hotfix for Version 3 Note: This is not standalone, install it on top of Version 3. Simply replace the leader files with the ones in this download in /history/leaders, and replace the triggered_modifiers file in /common with this one. Fixes the Austria-Hungary and Turkey leaders issue, and the disorganised_soviets issue.

    All versions are stand-alone. You do not need Versions 1 and 2 to use Version 3. I always suggest using the latest version, because it has the most up-to-date balances and fixes.

    Please follow the Install Instructions text file to the letter. You will find these instructions in the "INSTALL INSTRUCIONS.txt" file in the download. I don't know why it can't just sit in the mod folder but it won't show up if you leave it there.

    Features:

    - Map reworked to WW1 nations.
    - Techs changed to fit WW1.
    - OOBs changed. Not 100% accurate but roughly correct.
    - Leaderships and IC rebalanced to better represent WW1 nations.
    - Land Forts reduced to 1 month build time but max level 3, to simulate trenches.
    - Armoured Cars are now a combat brigade but move slower. Armour will need to be researched but won't be available until mid-war. Carriers can also be researched but won't be available until late war with terrible techs.
    - Events to start the Libyan War, Balkans Wars and Great War.

    Not done:

    - Fixing manpower. Currently the UK gets way too much, Germany probably not enough.

    Credit to the WW1 mod on Paradox forums. The map, events, most of the land OOBs, leaders are their work. I've done naval OOBs, Leadership, IC and will do manpower.

    I have permission from the mod leader there to work on his mod and post the results.

    Please download it and give me feedback on how it all works. I don't care about manpower at the moment because that remains to be done. Tell me about the events, techs, whether or not the war is balanced, etc.

    Please follow the Install Instructions text file to the letter. I don't know why it can't just sit in the mod folder but it won't show up if you leave it there.

    Also, importantly, please tell me your checksum for the version you use.

    Version 2 Changelog

    - Removed "Prepare for War" decision.
    - Set War Economy to unlock in 1913, no earlier.
    - Removed a few techs from various countries: Austria-Hungary can no longer build tanks, Ottoman Empire can no longer build Aircraft.
    - Ottoman Empire can now build Battleships.
    - Removed the Air forces from Italy and France.

    Version 3 Changelog

    - Set War Economy to unlock in 1914, no earlier.
    - Reduced Ottoman IC a bit to balance Russia.
    - Removed a lot of plane and tank producing ability from a bunch of nations.
    - Removed Carrier building from the USA
    - Set Superheavy Battleship tech to 1914. Superheavies lack upgrades but should outperform older battleships, whilst 1916 tech Battleships should outperform them.
    - Beefed Serbia up very slightly, to stop them being conquered within a week of the war starting.

    Still waiting for checksums. Its important we work this out if we're to do that MP game.

    Some bugs I've found:

    -France starts off with their air units. Need to be removed.
    -Austria-Hungary can build tanks. Needs to be removed.
    -Ottoman Empire can build planes. Needs to be removed.

    They should've been moved already, is it their entire army like the WW2 start or is it just a few leftovers I missed?

    Russia seems pretty much okay from a players perspective. Although I haven't gone through to see if I have tanks. No airforce to my knowledge. And armor doesn't appear to be doable until 1916 I believe.

    I'm getting XNDB...

    Also this is my second load up of the mod/savegame and it is choppy as which is unsat.

    Game is stable now, OH MY Fing GOD WHAT IS THIS HORRIBLE EVENT! -50% Org at start of war?!?!?! Why even play!

    XNDB is what I get from the download too, I scrapped my non-downloaded version. Can you expand on this org event? I'll go hunt the event files for it if you can give me its name.

    Well my thinking is they may have stuck it in there to represent the mobilisation period: armies back then required a few weeks to constitute themselves into a fighting force before being able to engage in operations: halving organisation at the start of the war sounds a lot like the original team were trying to represent that. I can't actually find any events that have an organisation loss in the effects, though.

    It would explain why the British don't have such an event as well: the BEF was already mobilised and comprised of a small number of professional divisions, compared to the general mass mobilisations of the other Great Powers whose armies were beefed up with tons of reservists and volunteers.

    Easy to abuse for the British though: a UK player could put way more than a handful of Divisions in France before the war starts.

    The whole idea behind the Schlieffen plan was that Russia is very slow to mobilise

    In my test the war went to right away, but I don't think I built appropriately, this should be better as MP since I doubt Germany will stack millions of men against me and never declare war on Belgium and fight defensive along the Rhine, either way I went for Battleships to help Britain, that's a waste if there ever was one considering my IC.

    Britain has almost 1000 regiments and are double the size of France and I didn't even bother to build so I'm actually the smallest. I will certainly not be following this model.

    Anyway the event happened like so:
    All the events went down, but no one went to war. I decided to Mobilize in July and I was at 100% strength by end of August, but no war. September came, no war.
    I declared war on Germany in October. -50% org hit like right after that. I had parity in Poland with them but I got ran over rather quickly in a couple provinces.

    Also Austria isn't even in the Central Powers. Only Montenegro, Persia and Albania are. Whatever, we'll have to address this in our game. Sweden went Entente almost right after game start. I'm assuming we won't be allowing massive global alliances that open fronts all over the place or what? Actually gives the Central Powers a massive advantage if they can sacrifice AI countries while they concentrate in Europe.

    As for mobilization, we already have that mechanic in game. Nothing stopping Germany from hitting the mobilize button early and going to war.

    Edit:
    I'm not seeing a modifier later that removes that event, so I could potentially be stuck with -50% org forever, which is BS. I also just found this event in the triggered_modifiers which is just wrong:

    Those two I can remove, and yes there is something wrong with the German mobilisation event: Luxembourg and Belgium should join the Allies and then Germany should DoW Lux and Rus, but they don't. I'll try to find out why.

    Edit: All the events fired for me, but it took a little longer. Germany went to war in September rather than August.

    I got Ferdinand and all that, but maybe there was a hiccup because AH wasn't in the Central Powers. Don't think there would've been war had I not declared it.

    Will you have a new DL available today? Perhaps just a few files. I would like to give another campaign a go.
