I thank you for your answer Ngugi.
And i believe that your aproach to the whole fiefdom and ancillary matter is quiet reasonable.

If it is by his perfidious pinkness AKA Ngugi and seems reasonable, it is obviously a trick. Just ask any of the modders while he is not flogging them.

    ok

the good quality is more important than time.

i am a modder but for rome 2 however i modifier sometimes for m2tw.

but i have a question actually, can you work better on sprites(animations) of the game? like sauron animations? like animation of him in bfme game?

if it is possible to make same or at least near animations of bfme so it will be better so much!

We do not have an animator among us, so we're not planning any animation changes, no.

What is possible in that regard I can not answer; perhaps someone in the Mod Workshop might know: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...and-Animations

Hey Ngugi, I wanted to ask if you plan on doing a preview of the Rebels faction and mercenaries? Not asking when it will be published (if ever), just whether you have any plans for it at all.

Not a dedicated video, no; in the faction videos I'll discuss rebels in starting vicinity, as well as mercs avilable, as that often can be significant

Moved the question about population in the First, Second and Third age populations to the TGD thread.

As for animations, anything can be done in this game that can be done in any other game. You could literally use the animations from any other game in this one by converting them with various tools (often made by a modder for that game, sometimes even modtools by the developer) into any format that can be opened in 3ds max, milkshape, etc.. After that a tutorial can tell you how to add those animations, it takes practice to get good at doing it fast (like 1 hour for me maybe) but just doing it is not hard, it may take a bit of time though.

    Hi Ngugi,

I have a question as well (or really several, I suppose, and apologies if these have already been answered). How will Sauron be represented in this submod? Is the Dark Lord able to go forth from Barad-dr, and what happens if he is slain on the field? Also, what happens if Sauron is killed in battle, and can the Dark Lord arise again over the course of a campaign, or does his spirit pass into the East and await the Third Age?

    What happens to the Ring?

    Hello ArsMoriendi1270,

Sauron is the FL of Mordor, and the "pope" la TATW. Mordor can not get excommunicated, thus.
"General Sauron" is locked in Barad-dr until certain criteria occurs. For the players this means taking a certain amount of regions, as...

Denethor laughed bitterly. ‘Nay, not yet, Master Peregrin! He will not come save only to triumph over me when all is won. He uses others as his weapons. So do all great lords, if they are wise, Master Halfling. Or why should I sit here in my tower and think, and watch, and wait, spending even my sons? For I can still wield a brand.’
If Sauron is killed in battle, there are different potential outcomes:
    - if the player is an evil faction, the Ring will start to appear in different settlements la TATW. Capturing the Ring will restore both 'general Sauron' and 'pope Sauron' to the game. This can be done once.
    - if the player is good, but not by the player, or by the player but the general commanding the force has 8 ancillaries, then the Ring is 'lost'. In time, unless Mordor is eradicated, the Ring will find its way to Sauron's spirit restoring both 'general Sauron' and 'pope Sauron' to the game. This may occur once.
    - if the player is good and kill Sauron in battle with a commanding general, the general captures the One Ring as ancillary. He/she will then see corrupting effects occur as time goes by. The general may destroy the Ring, but if held by certain generals other interesting outcomes may come in time...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

If the same general is killed in battle, the Ring will find its way to Sauron's spirit restoring both 'general Sauron' and 'pope Sauron' to the game. This may occur once.

If 'general Sauron' is killed twice, but the Ring is not destroyed, his spirit is "fled to the East". No more Invasions thus, but one may in his own mind imagine the far distant future will reslemble LotR...

If I got anything wrong, as it's on the top of my head, I'll be corrected hehe.
Credits to Withwnar for one hell of a scripting deed.

Aight, good to know; so far only been into implementing pre-existing animations from other mods

That's pretty much right, except: the pope - the 'spirit of Sauron' - still lives on and has influence (e.g. Invasions) while The Ring exists (has not been destroyed) and the Mordor faction exists. General Sauron(s) dying does not remove the pope, nor does losing the ring.

    The DCI:LA team presents

    The DCI Map

The Second Age strategy map is a modified version of the Third Age:Total War-map, with uniqe custom changes.
All map work credited to Withwnar.

The focus of the presentation are the new regions, border changes and other climate & terrain edits.
The video do not go into name- or size-changes of settlements, nor the strat models or custom settlements - though the latter may become focus of a video in the future.

As my first ingame video I take any shortcomings upon myself, hehe, but hope you shall enjoy:

The only thing wrong is the voice. Ngugi you need an evil overlord mode for these things. Try some cackling.
