Every time you guys post even the tiniest, most minuscule speck of a preview, I do a small wee of excitement.
As it takes a bit longer than expected to get the Lothlórien unit preview ready, we decided to keep you entertained with a little sneak preview. It features an all time favourite character from Tolkien's work and one of the few ladies that really know how to kick some ass. You probably guessed it by now, it's lady Galadriel. She has been previewed before, but now can be seen with her proper in game bodyguard and in a real (test) campaign battle.
Galadriel's Guard
Lady Galadriel is the daughter of Finarfin, son of Noldor's first king Finwë, and daughter of Eärwen, princess of the Teleri.
She is the last remaining of the Noldor leaders who brought the High Elves out of Valinor into Exile, back to Middle-earth, where they fought the long war against Morgoth and his servants. Likewise she was the only woman of her people to stand tall and valiant among the contending princes when the rebellion started, eager to leave Aman.
When the First Age ended, she and her husband Celeborn, a Sindar prince of Doriath, remained in Middle-earth. They lived in the Grey Havens, Eriador and Eregion for periods, but often took interest in Lothlórien since it was close to the threat of Mordor, and has done so till this day.
A Noldo royal, one of the Wise, Ringbearer and a chief inspirator behind the opposition against Sauron, a sworn guard is attached by the ruler of Lothlórien to protect her, as Galadriel is perhaps the one Elven lady known to fight to protect her folk in dire times. Armed with a sword from Beleriand and songs of power she encourages her fellow warriors, and puts terror in the hearts of the enemy.
Her guard consists of grim veteran archers, provided with armour by Noldo smiths, who prefer to take out enemies before they can reach the Lady, yet would that come to pass, they slay them with heavy axes

Nice!
hmmm....
Are you going to have Galadriel in Lorien for the Last Alliance?
Looking awesome, great work!
Galadriel looks deadly! Great addition to ME.
All these recent previews look high quality.
Wonder if 2015 holiday stocking might have something special in it.
The remnant of the King's Men who survived in Middle-earth after the destruction of Númenor were called the Black Númenóreans since they worshipped Sauron and were "enamoured of evil knowledge". They worshipped Darkness, and believed that Melkor and Sauron were its most powerful servants. At the end of the Second Age two of their number, Herumor and Fuinur, became lords among the Haradrim, though what became of them is unknown.

@ All
Glad you like it lads
As Withwnar say, yes.
It's a consious artistic choice, yet require no great suspension of disbelief what lore concern.
From a game play perspective Lindon, which would been the alternative affiliation, already is filled with prominent characters, and likewise important, all others who have the potential to actually make use of the One Ring, will they ever lay hands on it;
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I desire to spread out key lore characters a little more among factions, just as well as open up the fun Ring-possibilities to more than one faction within the game.
From a lore perspective I lean towards the ambiguity of Galadriel's and Celeborn's whereabouts during the late Second Age.
"Concerning Galadriel and Celeborn" in UT place them at Edhellond, which at least is Lothlórien territory in DCI:LA [neither character start in Edhellond however; I'm openly picky with that text], while later texts in the book and the Appendicies give no position for them at this time. Thus Lothlórien, that been a realm of great interest and affairs of theirs during the Age in the opposition against Sauron, is by me considered a fair alternative.
We have an account they were there three times during the Second Age:
When was the second time they returned? Well why not just before the War started?To Lórien Celeborn and Galadriel returned twice before the Last Alliance and the end of the Second Age;
- UT
In the earlier preview of the Galadriel model the presence was presented as this, intentionally weaving together the little pieces of lore with the open possibility of the ambigiouty, and it's the perspective held for DCI:LA;
She and her husband has been concerned about Lothórien's situation troughout the Age. In that land, close to Mordor, Sindar princes rule over Silvan Elves, and also some Noldor, refugees led by Galadriel there after Eregion fell.
The ever designing couple recently returned, after time spent in Lindon, Edhellond and Imladris, when Mount Doom once agin erupt. Offering her services as councellor to king Amdír, as Celeborn his aid, she is a wise overseer, able to divine what occurs in the world trough her mirror, and, if the people is assulted, Galadriel is perhaps the one Elven lady known to stand up in the defence.

Great work, guys, great work!!!
Great stuff as always guys keep up the good work
The DCI: Last Alliance team is proud to present to you the
Official preview of the roster of Lothlórien
A host crafted by Earl of Memory
All units are new, except for the Smiths of Eregion.
The people of Lothlórien are in origin Nandor Elves of the Teleri Clan, who turned aside from the Great Journey to Valinor early in the First Age. They settled on both sides of the River Anduin, mingled with Avari of the East and became the valiant Silvan Elves. In their own tongue the original name for their land was Lindórinand, nowadays Lórinand, better known as Lothlórien in the Sindarin speech.
In the early Second Age they welcomed lords of Sindarin descent, who are their kinsfolk, and made Amdir their king. After the year 1697 of the Second Age, they mingled also with the Noldor, when Galadriel led refugees out of the land of Eregion, that Sauron had destroyed. Under the rule of Amdír and his son Amroth the threat of Mordor has been kept at bay by means of arms and valour, and the sudden return of Sauron to Middle-earth after the the Downfall of Númenor saddened them but put no dent to their convictions.
Of old the Elves of Lórien have been close to their Silvan and Sindar kinsmen in Eryn Galen but they harbour no ill feelings towards either Dwarves or Noldor. Thus their armies are better equipped than those of their kinsmen, although not as heavy as Lindon's or as numerous as Eryn Galen's hosts. Amdír can be expected to heed summons from Gil-galad and to bring as large a force as he can muster to the Alliance of Elves and Men, because he is a wise lord, and his axe is restless in his hands.
