    Please edit your posts rather than triple posting. I do not want to have to clean up afterwards.

    Was the download corrupt? There is a sticky thread on this which I suggest you look at.

    Its not a problem with the file being corrupt, i checked that. however there is a fix that darth has posted at http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=562996

    "Son of a Preacher"

    i got this message too. My solution was this:

    1. Restore Vanilla-Empire
    2. Start the game
    3. Start a campaign
    4. Save a Campaign-game
    5. quit the game
    6. activate DME again
    7. Start DME- problem disappeared.... let me know if i could help
    that fixed it for me.

    It didn't for me. I had the same line 325 error on trying to start 8.0, then installed the 8.01 patch and now I have a similar error but pointing to line 327. The fix didn't work for me, unless I have somehow misunderstood what I should do.
    I have installed Empire Total War from Steam.

    1. Left the DME choosing restore vanilla
    2. I started Empire total war through a shortcut directly to Empire.exe
    3. I started a Grand Campaign
    4. and saved it.
    5. Quit the game
    6. Start the DME again
    7. No matter if I try to start the vanilla or the Ultimate Campaign, I get the same line 327 error.

    Any help? I'm drawing a blank on the net looking for a fix for this problem...

    Have the exact same problem.
    I've tried every suggested solution i could find and reinstalled both ETW and DM many times, with Darthmod I've also downloaded the mod from several different mirrors. And lastly I reinstalled ETW and DM on a different hard drive, same as the OS.

    Put your game back to vanilla empire make sure it works without any CTD, i.e. play 1 turn
    Then re-install DME from one of the links above
    Add the patch

    Thank you Mr Hammer,

    I've tried atleast two of the suggested links above and I've also tried the "Vanilla trick" though only by saving the game, not played 1 turn.
    But gonna try letting it pass 1 round and see if its changes anything.

    I'll Let you know of the result!
    Thanks again!

    Hi again,

    None of the links worked, is that just me?

    Tried again with the copy from modDB.com and by following the steps you provided but it still does not work.
    I get the same Line 327/Main 618 Chunk error message.

    If you got any other ideas I would be greatful.

    Hi again,

    Uninstalled DME, installed the file from the link in the previous message, which worked, started the game in vanilla and played one turn, shut it down and loaded DME.. but sadly I still get the "Line 325/325 error".
    Are there different versions of ETW that might not be compatible with DME? I got the "collection" version with all the DLC's.

    Cheers!

    I assume that are using a Windows based PC, for which there is only one version of ETW, I have the same version as you and have no issues

    The fix in post 3 I believe works when you delete and re-install ETW, then DME etc., - have you tried that method?

    Yes, before i installed the latest link to the mod which you provided i reinstalled ETW in steam, and before i installed DME I started TWE in vanilla, played for one round and saved.
    Then installed DME, but it changed nothing. Feel safe to say that I've tried every suggested solution i can find including yours but what ever I've done it has changed nothing, always the same "Line Error"

    If its any help I've also had problems then I'm trying to play the Imperial Splendour mod, then get an error saying "Application Load Error 5:0000065434". Could it be related?

    1 are running windows 10
    2 is the user script load order correct
    3 try turning off your Antivirus and firewall
    4 clear the fx cache
    5 make sure the startpos is in the correct folder for DME

    1. Not sure if that's a question or not =) But if it is then, yes i am running on Windows 10
    2. What determines that the script order is correct and how do i know if it is?
    3. Will do!
    4. Googles no help there only shows me pictures of AMD processors. FX Cache is that the BIOS?
    5. Not sure where they´re suppose to be, but I'll google that too.

    Thank you for your time!

    Icon14 Re: [UNRESOLVED] Error on startup

    Sorry It was late at night here in NZ and I was playing ETW on one PC and talking to you on another, my bad and yes that was a question

    1/ Anyways make sure you run Empire or the DM launcher as an administrator and I would also run it in compatibility mode, right click on the exe and go down to properties and click on it
    with that done look for the Compatibility tab and click on it where it says compatibility mode tick the box that say "Run this program in" etc etc, then click the drop down and chose Windows 7
    Now with that done, just below that is another set of settings called Settings tick the box that says "Run this program as an admin" then click apply at the very bottom of the popup box

    2/ Script order is very important for example when I play DM I don't use the DM launcher as I find it screws things up for me

    so, I load my own script up as opposed to letting the launcher do it
    eg:
    mod DME_campaign.pack;
    mod DME_AUM.pack;
    mod DME_BSM_ON.pack;
    mod DME_Grenades_ON.pack;
    mod DME_Deploy_ON.pack;
    mod DME_Navy.pack;
    mod DME_CANu6.pack;
    mod DME_darthmod.pack;
    mod DME_SkinPack.pack;
    mod DME_UnitsPack.pack;
    mod DME_DFMGB.pack;

    now, that order works for me but I had to trial and error first and had alittle help from Swiss Halberdier
    Now, ur script file is located ( not sure if it's the same for Win10 as I use Windows 7 ultimate for my gaming PC
    and Windows 10 and screw around laptop
    but the location for my would be something like this
    eg : C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

    3/ You've done

    4/ the fx cache is in a similar location for example
    eg: C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\fx_cache

    delete all the files within that folder, don't worry it re-establishes in game on start up

    5/ startpos in DM would be some where like this but not necessarily verbatim because we have different OS's eg: G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Empire Total War\data\campaigns\DME

    anyways it's getting late here again and I'm having a couple of drinks
    let us know how you get on and good fortune to ya
    Cheers

    PS if some sound alittle gibberish I'm sorry

    Nothing to apologize for bro I'm just thankful that someone wants to help!

    1. That step I've tried earlier but it did nothing for me.

    2. I see, thank you for explaining that! Well i tried that and i dont know if it did anything. Since I havent played any of the vanilla game im not that familiar to the changes so I couldn't say if it worked only upon starting a new game Is there any obvious changes in the packs that you had on you script list?

    4. Tried but i still got the error when using the launcher

    5. Moved the starting position files but that made the game crash upon trying to start a new campaign. However it i changed the original name on the file " 2T_startpos.esf" to the same as the original file, removing the "2T_" part. And then i worked!!

    No gibberish at all its just me being unexperienced!
    Still not sure if the packs work though so ill just give it a go and see if there's something I'll miss
    So thanks a bunch and hope the hangover is not all to bad!

    Time to conquer the world!
