    Hail Darth,
    Thank you for your prompt reply to my pilum question,I have tried a new tactic in descb units have increased the charge distance from 40 to 60 for the pricip hastatie ect have also increased other factions equvilent to balance it seems to have improved the romans fire release rate at least they are not getting caught in mid throw so easily.The dark side is coming out!

    I've been playing different campaign recently, and i think unit recruitment system is missing one thing. Why not change the recruitment time for "militia/light" type units to 0? ... in order to allow "conscription"? And leave, or increase unit recruitment for other types?

    I just found one problem, but I'm not sure if i am the only one who encounter it:

    when I assign multiple troops to move to a certain place, for example, ctrl+A, then alt+move to a place.
    I found after they reach the target position, many troops( esp for the those infantary carry shields), they change their face direction automaticly. someone in the troop turn left/right, some others right/left

    I also encounter this problem in RTR PE, but i did not found this problem in RTR gold or official version.

    Can this be called as a bug? or it is just designed to???

    Just installed and played it, its awesome !! I'm playing the germans and have had 2 (although still clear victories) very satisfying battles. Just pitty (like in some other mods TE i think) you cant advance to level 4 and 5 for barbarian cities and all their buildings (or does this mod have that to, i just think, but i havent seen it in the notes of 8.0 and it wasnt in 7...) that would be nice to add
    Also love the different campaigns, thats just unique !!

    Hi Darth,

    I'm making a table of features of the mods I play. Re. Darth mod 8.0, I can't find all the features mentioned in the FAQ. Could you tell me if it features:

    - Lt's forts
    - higher unit morale vs. vanilla
    - slower missles vs. vanilla
    - signifier's animations
    - 4TPY

    Because AI will prefer of levy too much. Right now everything is balanced just right. AI does not think like human and needs forcing.

    Yes...5 campaigns is really a replayability attribute of DarthMod..try the historical battles too

    Hi Darth.
    Again a great mod for Rome:Total War. You've really made total war to what it should be

    There's only one thing. I first tried Rome and now I'm playing as Pontus (Imperal campaing). Both of them have gone to a point where I have no other choice but to defend my self all the time. The enemy armies just keep coming and coming although I keep annihilating them... After a time it makes the game...somewhat boring cause there's nothing else to do but fight...

    My settings are H/H

    Otherwise I love your mod. As pontus I watched the Greeks build a fort to asia minor and began to cause havoc to my towns using the fort as base of operations. That was really amazing I look forward striking them back after I'm able to because I'm constantly in a conflict with Armenians and Selduics

    Hi There,
    playing as Carthage on H/H on the Europe 270 bc. map, i face a similar problem as Maximus Whitewolf does. The year is 242 and I´m constantly at war now with the Numidians, the romans, the greeks and the iberians (who give me the most headaches). So far i have not lost a battle out of 87, but I am running out of money, in fact I´m bankrupt (I had to hire a lot of mercenaries to keep my city´s in Spain). The game is fun, but it has the old TW problem: the AI does not have a smart detailed tactical direction in the overall campain. I mean it acts kind of dull politically, senselessly going to war, no smart negotiations and so on. I think that is what makes you fight so many battles in the first place (has nothing to do with thid mod). 87 battles in in 28 years, that more than three each year, a highly unrealistic aspect of Total War istsself.

    CaA hard coded to some extent....1 way to make this not so often is to raise upkeeps of all armies so AI will not have the manpower to extend his aggressiveness.
    But then the campaigns would become boring...and most importantly far easy for human to conquer AI with less armies.
    Still you must notice that the armies are not 3-4 stacks but 1-2 good quality armies .If you win 1 then AI builds another one.(if it has the manpower)
    Imagine if I apply the o turn built what it would happen.

    Other method is too make populations even more less able to grow.

    The easiest is to play on medium campaign h/vh battles just to see a fair campaign AI.

    Thank you for replying Darth.

    Now my situation has eased a little bit and this has made the gameplay much enjoyable.

    I've almost driven the Greeks out with my one professional army and at the same time kicking Selduic butts. Armenians have stopped attacking after conquring my capital but I've almost recovered from that though I'm watching them closely I keep striking hard to both Greeks (although they came at me with two professional armies) and Selduics and after that threat has been neutralized I'm going to give the Armenians a lession My war chariots will crush them

    More suggestions for improving DM 8.0:

    1. Many military oriented temples' (esp Gaulish/Spanish one) benefits are too overpowered (imo - in one stage of my gaulish campaign I was training silver chevroned troops thats a bit unbalanced), cuz of experience granting for green troops. Imo exp should be only earned in battle. I suggest adding morale bonus instead of exp to all military temples. Just an idea.

    2. About victory conditions: plz check out my own modded file (don't have any issues/ctds with it) and tell me your opinion. Basically what I made was to make an objective for factions to hold their lands first and then conquer the specific provinces (e.g. Gauls go for Julii and Senate while defending ALL their lands; Germania defends its' woodlands and goes for invading Londinium etc.) Made a campaign objective for all non roman factions to hold 30 regions including specific ones (fair)

    3. Signifier‘s animations seems missing in BI?

    4. archer effectiveness is too reduced in BI (compared to RTW), archers even the good ones are underpowered in BI. Even archer duels last long, cuz missile attack is way too low imo (compared to RTW)

    5. in DM BI mountain slingers and nomad archer cav of Sassanid faction have old vanilla unit cards.

    6. about brigands and rebels in RTW and BI: make them appear fewer times (their spawn rate is good now), but make them appear with far bigger and more balanced armies

    7. more loading screens for BI :tooth: Where did the old vanilla ones gone?

    8. some ranged units such as desert archers, Hun horde archers and others have their knife and spear in both hands at one time while they are shooting - looks kinda weird.

    9. make shield wall more looser - the men are too packed imo (they keep walking in one place all the time)

    10. faction icons in BI diplomacy are messed up (new ones with old ones together)

    11. Starting diplomacy and faction attitudes in DM RTW imperial campaign

    I modded diplomacy for better balance imo and will tell you my arguments. Plz check out my modded file for diplomacy. You can implement it for DM patch if you like it. Tell me your opinion/thoughts.

    I‘ll try to describe it in a couple of words:

    Romans (SPQR, Julii, Brutii, Scipii) in the beginning are at war with Carthage, Gaul, Macedon and Greeks. No enemy as Spain since they don‘t have any border with them. Julii has worst attitude with Gaul, but less worse with Carthage, Macedon, Greeks (since they are far away). It allows for a short ceasefire sometimes. Similar are Brutii whom bitter enemies are Macedon and Greece but lesser one Gaul and Carthage. Scipii – Carthage, but more able to get a ceasifire from Gaul and Macedon. It helps for a player not to have fighting everyone at one time.

    Carthage has a strong alliace and great attitude (low chance of betrayal) with Numidia (they are a strong block); alliances with Gaul and Macedon, Greeks too; is neutral with Spain, cuz earlier it betrayed Carthage (no matter what) and all the alliances broke down. Also Carthy is more suspicious to spaniards and maybe will defend south Iberia better.

    Spain has Gaul as allies only. The earlier alliance with Numidia was useless, since when spaniards declare war on carthage, numidia will brake an alliance with Carthy. (need to keep Carthage mighty)

    Gauls have Britons, Carthage as allies; are neutral suspicious with Germans and don‘t have previous alliance with Numidia (made no sense to me).

    Britons have an ally Gaul and are hostile to Germans, meaning they will fight against them and not betray Gauls.

    Germans are in a strong block alliance with Dacia.

    Thrace dont have allies and is more hostile to Dacia making life for Macedon easier.

    Scythia too has no allies, it‘s a lone wolf of the game.

    Macedon and Greeks are strongly bonded together making chance of betrayal low. It‘s another block like romans, carthage – numidia, germans-dacia. Their ally is Carthage.

    Seleucids are neutral with everyone, but has hostile relations with Parthia (which will certainly lead to war). On the other hand they have good relations and chance of forming alliance with Pontus. Neutral and suspicious with Egypt.

    Egypt is neutral with everyone (another lone wolf), but has bad relations with Numidia – could lead to war.

    Parthia is also neutral to everyone; bad relations with Seleucids, good with Armenia. Chance to form a good alliance block.

    I donno this is it in couple of words. I think I need more attention how to sort the Middle East to keep Egyptians less powerful and Seleucid last longer, but the previous alliances between Egypt, Seleucid and Parthia were illogical and ahistorical imo. They would betray each other no matter.

    Hello Grand Duke, I was going to try your files, when I went to Filefront it said "restricted to access group ony", does this mean you are only wanting a certain group to test the file? That is fine, they just sound interesting.

    i couldnt find my post about this so i am just going to whine in here i love the battles but...provincial campaign isnt working and i installed it exactly as written (i think) ive tried troubleshooting and ive found out that only the imperial campaign works, and i cannot put an provincial as an imperial then ill get an CTD

    is it normal that after u get national hero trait for roman (+4morale) u get legendary hero which only gives +2morale?
