Trouble using Wineskin port to play M2TW
Hi all. I have been a long time Total War fan, and pretty much stopped playing after I got a Mac and quit video games altogether after a while. Despite this, I always get an itch to play M2TW. A while ago, I used BootCamp to play the game on Windows, and it worked just fine. I have since gotten rid of that partition, any any attempts to set up another partition for Windows have been met with an error, so I gave up (not really important). Looking for an alternative, I found out about using Wineskin to play Windows software. I have used Wine in the past to download things, but this is the first time I have used it to install a full game.
I downloaded a Wrapper from Paul the Tall, and successfully installed it. I tried patching it to v1.2, but every time I tried to do so it said that the game could not be found. So, I downloaded a No-CD key to play v1.0 (I own the game, this is the only way it will work), and whenever I click the game to launch, I am met with a "Fatal graphics error" message, and the game shuts down. Does anyone have any idea as to why this could be happening? I understand it is most likely something I did wrong using Wine, but I really don't know. *EDIT* Maybe this could be a reason, but in his video tutorial Paul says NOT to install DirectX since it is "already included", whatever that means.
Thanks!
Error is:
Mtw2:fatal graphics error A fatal graphics error has occurred and the game will now be shut down. This is normally caused by having your game options set too high, please try running the game again and lowering your graphics setting before entering a battle.

Others are playing on a Mac without the crack so time to chuck it and find the real reason.
Got other goodies like Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120? How about EA games?

I was just following the (horrible) video tutorial provided by the guy who made the wrapper. When I clicked the .exe to play after installing, it wouldn't work. When I replaced it with a No-CD crack, it worked. No, I don't have those.

Do you mind telling me how others are playing on a Mac without using BootCamp? Thanks.

I only know one not using Bootcamp, Stoogeofstooges I believe is his username. Ask him what he's using.

Okay, I sent you a pm with a rather...long (sorry, I write a lot) solution. It should suffice, as it has worked for others besides me.

Hello,
I know I'm a couple of years late but I'm trying to play the Third Age Mod and am getting the same "fatal graphics error" -- if you could provide me with the above mentioned fix I'd be extremely grateful.
