Here are the installation instructions for DME 8.0:

• First, you must fully patch the game Empire: Total War.
  The 1,6 patch is the latest.
  Patch 1.6 is actually called v.1.5.0 build 1332.21992 due to a mistake of The Creative Assembly.
  So how do you know for sure that you have the patch? You fully install the game and update with Steam and then check in your game folder if there is a file patch5.pack. If this file exists then your game is up to date.
• Uninstall any previous version of DarthMod (DM or DMUC).
• Verify Game Integrity with Steam (See how->Link).
• Run the Installation Package (File DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum.exe) and just follow the instructions.

My download speed increased 1kbps per second, so it started around 150kbps and finished around 850. Took about 75 minutes total but I can confirm the installer works and the new launcher is fantastic.

Unfortunately I've got the file but can't seem to get it working Had unpacking errors with the save game files & some others during the install, then I get some errors when trying to launch & can't launch DME.

Anyone else having problems downloading? I've tried 3 times and every time the download just randomly stops in the middle and says the download is complete although I've never gotten past 50%.

Try downloading with Chrome, as it took 18 minutes.
IE and Firefox kept quitting.
