This is what i say in very rare occasions.
Caudillo87 your work is very high quality. You would be one of the very few that would be member of CBUR project.
Keep your great work, do not make low quality compromises.

As soon as TGC will be in close to finish of unit models i will help you with gravity/realsim project.
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

My pleasure and a incredible honor. I'm working on events images, for romans and sassanids, right now.

And Caudillo the roman and sassanids units are amazing, I just love the colours the equipment, the atention to the detail... All is amazing. I cannot just wait to see what more you can do.

    Regards

One of my 1st envolvements as history researcher was in a mod called Rise of the Caliphate.
Back then modelers were extrimely rare and help was very limited.
The mod started right the momment when muslim arabs took control over the pagan arabs and had their 1st expansion.
I made a pack of images to help this mod in the visual part.
Please do not abandon that project.
    Sassanid cataphract

Gyan-avspar-peshmerga (those that determined to sucrifise)

    Link
In my pack you will find a picture with more details.

    Check this link

Also try to find and read wargaming great book WAB_Beyond the Golden Gate.
    It will be very helpfull.

    @Caudillo87
    Check your pms
EDIT: Remember that exept Daylami heavy guardsmen and infantry all the rest of Sassanid infantry were actually unarmored.

    mod time period is 612-710.

in this century arabs has been led by prophet muhammed(s.a.v.) then ebubekir,ömer, osman, ali and then umayyad caliphate.

time period does not contain abbasid times.

so arab armies ll be based of 3 parts.

    armies of s.a.v.
    armies of 4 emir
    armies of umayyad caliphate.

    anyone can correct me.

Daylamites as warriors were known even from the Parthian era.
They were the almost only heavily armed infantry Sassanids could deploy.
Daylamites served as soldiers of fortune to most Islamic armies when they embrassed Islam.
Daylami warriors were not Abbasids exclusives.

If I'm not wrong, there are Daylamites warriors in-game.

Most Sassanid roster is done. I have not done the phaigan levies nor their archers but the following is the present Persian infantry roster starting from the elite.

Golden Spears: The unit that Theophanes talks about, I have made them the elite foot soldiers to the shah along with khosrowgetae and Piroozetae will be recruit able only in dastagard.
Dailamites Elite Infantry: Royal guard unit recruit able only in Ctesiphon. Spearman
Soghdian Heavy Infantry: Best melee infantry. Ctesiphon only.
Elite Guard Archers: (unmade) Name I have yet to develop, best archers in army. Ctesiphon only.
Sassanid Heavy Spearman: Spearman with a coat of mail, outer tunic and iron helmet with plume.
Sassanid Spearman: spearman with coat of mail and iron helm.
    Sassanid Archers: same
Phaigan Levies: (unmade) cloak, large wicker shield, cloth helmet.
    Phaigan Archers: (unmade) same
Kurdish infantry: (unmade) Skin cloak, iron helm, shield, javelins and axe.
Daylami Mercs:(unmade) cloak, sword and javelins.

In the pack i sent you there is a "ellite" spearman for sassanids.

According to scripts Gyan-avspar-peshmerga were actually nobles gathered in one unit
that gave oath to die for "the land and the king".
If you are going to put them ingame make sure that a player will be able only to retrain them but not recruit
    a 2nd unit.
As nobles they must have no uniformity nore same shield paterns/colors.

Pesmerga was a common name (still is in Kurds and Iranians) for several units.
    Gyan-avspar-peshmerga was one of them.
Consider them as nobles/knights/land owners that each one has his own personal armor and helmet/shield.
The guy with the leopard tunic could be one of them.

    The types of cavalry were:
    Cataphracts
    Clibanarii (lighter armored cataphracts)
Medium cavalry (armed with chain mail)
    light cavalry

The armor on the left is a reconstruction of a sassanid cataphract armor that found in persia.

Cataphracts of Sassanids used long armors and there for where slightly heavier than Romans
ALL unit in both sides had two parts known for romans as defensores and kursores.
Kursores were the attackers half part of the unit (archers) and defensores or ekdikoi were the lancers.

Great stuff! Been checkin out your unit previews and they look awesome! However, one question; will there be more variation in the units?

For which faction? And for what unit? Roman units displayed are guard units so they are armored by the state. For the Persians I can do only so much because of the availability of more than one example, but I will try to add more variety if I do some more research. It will make me go back again and redue everything but if you guys wait I can come up with something.

If it was intentional then no worries mate It looks as if there is only one face though... Do you use more?
