Modeling logistics & army supply by cash penalties is to me both questionable from a historical perspective and improper to the game play.
I have therefore ported BGRII onto SV 3.3 - this is a far more structured model, realistic and fun at the same time. It also affects the martial traits of generals in the human player's faction, for better balance and harder battles.
You can read the main facts of BGR2 and other Byg's submods on Byg's thread
My SV33 minimod is attached here below.
Installation :Unpack & copy my files such that the "data" folder in my package is merged
with SV "data" folder - make a backup copy of the original files before !
Alternately, install
JSGME 2.6 and put my submod into it (recommended).
My mod does not remove the original "field cost" (cash penalty) system from SV,
but keeping it along with BGR2 is not recommended. In order to remove it :
- Locate & edit all files named "campaign_script.txt" in SicilianVespers
- Search for "Part IV: Field Costs"
- Delete all code till "Part V: BB&B Events"
- Your "campaign_script.txt" files should finally look like this:
Code:
; papal_states omitted
;-------------------Part IV: Field Costs-----------------------------------------
;-------------------Part V: BB&B Events------------------------------------------
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
;; AI-Faction Leader Death Messages ;;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
As usual, better make a copy of the original files, before editing ...
Savegame compatibility : in order to play without field costs, you must start a new campaign, otherwise the minimod is compatible (but you won't see full effects on pre-existing family members).
Hope you find this submod useful.
PS : Also hope SV 4.0 could natively include it
