Combining Third age TW with Thera TW

Hey guys!

Here's the deal, I've been playing Third age for quite a while and I love the game, but I've gotten quite sick of the map.
So I tried Thera and initially it's a lot of fun, it gives a lot of freedom.
But some of the factions are very similar and not so much fun to play against so I was wondering if I could switch some factions from Thera with some of the Third age.
I figure I don't have to create new skins or anything like that, I'll just have to adjust all the scripts and combine some of the files.
I know it is possible, but I have limited modding experience and time.

So the question being: Is this something that would be incredibly hard to do or take years to do when you work on your own?
