I get why decadence is in the game. It represents historical changes in Islamic dynasties and i appreciate it especially when i'm playing a Christian faction and think the Muslims are over-powered.
But when i'm a muslim faction what should i do to stop it. I think the process is this:
1) make war. Use your dynasty members (or king/emir?) in battles and sieges where they actually lead
2) land your dynasty members. the guys with the blood drop in the portraits. unlanded adult male dynasty members add to decadence
3) if your leader dies, imprison everyone with the blood drop in the portrait. kill them if you must
4) do ramadan and hajj to get decadence down.
Is that a fair representation of what to do? If i'm seeing this right, its the exact opposite of a Christian kingdom where you want to make your dynasty spread and be powerful. Whereas with the Muslims, you want everbody in your dynasty dead or locked up except your heir, a couple of his bros and his dog. Please correct me if i am wrong, and i am loose with my rep giving button.
Finally, in a game with Granada, i did these things and i was going ok, but then all of a sudden i am getting like +0.1% decadence a month. After looking around to see wtf was going on, i noticed a new sultanate with the same dynasty as me just risen up around Tunisia. I spent about 20 years killing those bastards off. Obviously their decadence increase/decrease is exactly the same as mine. Do i have to kill all of them off or will the increasingly distant blood relation (e.g. third and fourth cousings etc) make the decadence die off, or will it last to 1453?
Any answers to all, part or some of my questions would really be appreciated.
