So a merchant with 4 provinces, do they qualify to be elected an elector, even though Duke does not apply to them if they ascend to the position? The Mediterranean Trade Landgraviate should have some say who controls his 4 provinces tax income![]()

Oh nonono, I'm a merchantile-landgrave. If I wanted to be a Royal, and give up my golden opportunities, I would have just been a Royal and had a more secure position in the Duke/Count/Marquess, etc. A landgrave isn't much more than a glorified governor of multiple provinces for an Emperor.. Or so my interpretation is as such
I still want the benefits of a Path of Gold, and to be a merchant, so if I am allowed this, then I have no quarrels...
