Libya:Total war?
Hey guys im a huge fan of total war and im also libyan and i was wondering if someone was willing to make a Libya:total war about the civil war that we had id be gladly give them accurate info about the cities,armies,leaders and everything else. someone please make a mod for rome total war about this please!!

I doubt it will sell much. And if it the war was too new, I don't think the TW mechanics will work for it. (trench warfare, etc...)

No, it's not. This is clearly stated as the 'Rome: Total War General Discussion' forum.
@OP; No one would make a game representing the Libyan civil war, let alone modding an already existing game into it.

My thoughts exactly. A modern TW would never work especially for such a minor event as Libya's recent civil war. You might not think it is minor, but unless Libya becomes a power player because of this civil war, it will remain a minor war as far as the world is concerned.
Modern warfare moves too fast for a TW game or a mod to capture it. Also there is only two mods that have tanks, the Great War for NTW and Call of Warhammer for Medieval II Kingdoms. How are you going to show aircraft? How are you going to show the urban warfare? AFAIK, there were no field battles, only unconventional battles. An FPS would be a better choice than a strategy game.

OP, you should go to the Men of War forums. You won't get a sandbox campaign map like with Total War, but the mechanics are already in place for modern weapons. If you could find someone to help you make skins and models, there's already an editor that comes with the game that's rather user friendly which you could use to make your own campaign.
Which sounds like an awful lot of work, but that's your best bet.

Just so you know, the link goes to a place where you can ask about modding. I don't think you should ask here, and, as they said, MoW would work better. I never played MoW though, only watched videos on youtube, which sucks. But the modding forums is better than Gen. Discussion.

Wrong game and genre, actually. You want Libyan civil war, there are Paradox games for it. You will just don't have any visible view of troops.
Try Supreme Ruler 2020, that should satisfy the lust of at least playing as Libya in modern age.

Men of war definitely would be the game your looking for.
There are many mods for MOW and there's an editor which
is just an amazing piece because almost everything is possible with it.
The second option would be arma 2 - many mods - mission editor.
