Units shooting beyond 80 meters!

So there I was - politely waiting for the french unit's to close with my main infantry line Regts (keeping them warm with skirmisher fire and cannister shot as you do) when the first unit stops out side of the standard 80m range and begins to shoot! Then the 2nd one does it.

At which point I got annoyed and charged my entire line at them....

Now I know what your thinking - they were skirmishers or some such but no they were Standard French Fusilier Line Inf.

I have since experianced it several more times.

Has anyone else experianced this?

If thy were just outside of the range then its common. Maybe an officer of your line was outta place prompting the AI to fire
