i don't hate dany the argument that i made on the blackwater thread was to state that she isn't a good millitary commander all her battles were won cuz she faced incompetent salver's who haven't had a real war for a couple of hundreds of years and were taken by surprise because they are ignorant and arogand come on can you really praise so much someone who deafeted idiots that had bedslaves in their armies?

and i don't hate her quite the oposite i like her character somewhat , beacause for me she is the fantasy part of the books with all the dragons and prophecies and all that stuff

Yes, she is young and is allowed to make mistakes.. But her advisors give her so much good advice and she ignores it. Somehow she seems to have lost all her wits while staying in astapor. I blame it on the fact that G.R.R.M. wanted the story to come to a big battle at Mereen, so Dany had to do stupid things to get the story to that point, the same way Robb had to not tell Edmund about "The plan". She nailed down the slave masters to crosses and left them to die slow painful deaths, I don't see why she wouldn't be equally brutal in Mereen.

Among all the characters she's the only one who has something like a guardian angel. I never got the impression that she is in real peril or that GRRM might kill her off. She lost Khal Drogo (didn't like the idea of dothraki world kingdom that much), she lost her child (unborn and it was actually her doing getting involved in magic and so on). She had her adventure in Qarth and came out without a scratch or so on (Even Tyrion, GRRM's other favorite character lost a nose in an adventure).

She's not made for the political world of being a Queen yet she still believes she's the best for freeing slaves and so on. And thanks to her dragons she somehow is the center of the world and for all that she's a teenager falling in love with a sellsword captain instead of acting like a true ruler.

Her chapters were kind of boring since AGOT. Though it may be that I don't like East Essos that much and found everything related to them uninteresting.

Above all else she has too much luck for someone belonging to the ASoIaF books. Unless she starts acting mature or loses a body part I don't see me liking her anytime soon.

if he didn't have the power and finances he has he would still be great at court i say but again he is not a genius general

Not a genius? I dare to say that he is perhaps the best strategist in the whole of the seven kingdoms. There are perhaps better tacticians*, but he is a very good strategist, whose genius could (perhaps) only matched by a few.

*Randyll Tarly, perhaps. We sadly don`t know. Robb Stark might have become a better one, but he wasn`t nearly as good a strategist as tywin, which..

I don't hate her, just a small amount of dislike. She's a good person, but naive. Also, she has Dragons which ruins the realistic edge Game of Thrones has. Her line about Eddard Stark deserving execution really set me off because her crazy father boiled Lord Rickard Stark and had Brandon Stark strangled, and Rhaegar kidnapped his Lyanna Stark. She should be a bit more understanding toward Eddard. I can understand hating the Lannisters who were the REAL traitors in the rebellion.

I don't hate her. She is annoying, childlish, etc. what others said, she's not a bad person or sadistic bastard. I hate her plot armor. I hate the fact that she got litteraly everything handed to her and the only book where she achieved something for herself with her own work is GOT(where i liked her). Ilyrio gave her the eggs beacuse she's a Targ. Her dragons hatched for her by accident, her only intention was to torture and kill Miri Maaz Dur, she had no idea what she was doing, that was huge deus ex machina. In Quarth she got help or Xaro and Quaithe beacuse of dragons. Then she found out about the prophecies beacuse of dragons(or else no one would even notice her) and Drogon saved her ass. Barristan and Jorah came to her beacuse she's a Targ. Ilyrio again helped her(sent her ships and goods) beacuse she's a Targ with dragons. She got Unsullied over the dragons, although it's her only real achievement besides winning over Drogo and making her marriage happy. She conquered Yunkai and Mereen and was able to free slaves beacuse of Unsullied and Jorah & co.
In ADWD she didn't have any achievement at all despite being stupid drooling naive girl who doesn't see further behind some douche's blue beard and golden tooth. I do not blame her for her hormones, she could go to some pleasurehouse and simply get rid of her stress! But no... Daario... Even Robb is a great politician compared to ADWD Dany, especially if we compare their advisors(Robb: Blackfish and Catelyn, Dany:Shavepate(who reminds me a lot of Randyll Tarly), Barristan(living Westeros history book and probably capable general), Jorah(had she forgiven him, which i can't decide if she should or not) would have been extremely valuable help, even Xaro, Ben Plumm and the rest of those people who told her to go to Westeros. Heck, even Missandei 10 year old girl, has thrice her wits.). Robb died for his mistakes, and he made much less of them than Dany.(Large and very stupid one though)Her only positive doings are freeing slaves, which Sansa could have done better than Dany.(Ok not really but you see my point ). She is out of place in ASOIAF, both geographically and story-wise with her dragons, zero chance of death, seemingly invincible army and not paying for her mistakes. She's the only character in whole books who is allowed to make so many mistakes and live, most characters usually can't do that.
Not to mention her arc in ADWD was one of worst and dullest in whole series.

Until the battles for the Slavers' cities i found her just irritating. As Stannis said, she had everything handed to her, with no effort at all. It was frustrating seeing all characters fighting bloodily for every inch of success and on the other side this pretty teenager that "won" everything just spreading her legs or thanks to her surname.

The capture of Astapor, Yunkai and Meereen, however, had interested me. She finally developed a bit and EARNED what she got. She revealed herself as someone still too naive and young to be a ruler or a proper leader, but she is TRYING to became one. I respect that.


I still sometimes hate her for the simple reason that she seems to be DESTINED to "win" in the end. I hate that, i like ASOIAF because everyone can lose and be killed, even key characters, but that chick simply seems to negate that rule entirely. Irritating.

I do not think she is fit to be a ruler. She sometimes shows how caring she can be in the east. But when it comes to Westeros she sees it as her birth right and is going to try and win it in fire and blood like every other ruler. This is especially shown by how she would have been content with Khal Drogo leading his army on a massive pillage spree in Westeros. Not only that, but she is waiting until the very end of a very long and drawn out civil war. If she just came to Dorn early, she could have easily rallied a huge amount of support and won the Crown.

I think she would cause mayhem trying to win the throne (unsullied), and trying to keep it. I think she would not bring justice or the rule of law to Westeros, but have a court where she has many favourites that she spoils. I can also imagine her thinking she is a good Queen for doing the occasional throneroom justice (helping the odd peasant) but would neglect the realm. She just is not a good politician. She cannot control her dragons. Also, she cannot sire an heir; I wonder how violent the next civil war would be once she got herself killed.

Because she appears to be schizophrenic with how she makes good decisions then bad.. And with her parentage that can never be a good sign
