    Default Building a gaming pc

Hey I'm new to the tw community and have recently discovered total war - Rome and medieval 2. I want to play shogun 2 but my pc isn't powerful enough. I don't know much about pc specs and am in the dark. I will build my own pc (not buy custom) with parts I buy from many places. Could anyone give me specs for a custom pc for me that can play shogun 2 on high settings and that could also be upgraded for Rome 2 (if need be)? I don't have a budget but I really want it as cheap as possible.

    Thanks heaps

Moved from S2 GD to Basement

Here is the best place for this advice.

A copy of your dxdiag, a budget, and playing resolution will help.

Are these up to date machines? Eg: are they good value for money or can I gt parts for the same cot but newer? Also should I buy second hand?

Based on that dxdiag you can do some upgrades somewhat cheaply and be good to go.

What country are you in? What is your budget? Do you know what video card you have? Is the PC you have now off the shelf? Did you buy it in a store or order it from Dell, etc?

I'm in nsw australia and i'll be ordering online from where ever is cheapest. My pc is already custom
Built as my dad is a pc technician. I think my video card is 128 mb but not sure what make. That doesnt matter as i dont mind getting a new motherboard or processor or anything else.
About my budget, I don't know how good a pc i can get for a cheap budget
But I'll be looking for about $800. If I get can get what I need for less that's great. Is this budget to small, to big?
    Thanks

from what i remember Australia or was it New Zealand ii cant remember which is highly over priced compared to other areas of the world but regardless someone will need to supply me with reputable online retailers for your region. and ill go from there but considering everything over there seems to be double the cost here in the states thats around $400-500 to work with and not a whole lot can be done in that regard now if you mean $800 as in 800 USD than in your dollars we can make something decent. regardless i need reputable e-tailers to pick parts from.

Alright PC case gear looks a bit better better prices than most should be able to do something for you through them

If the prices are as bad in australia as u say then I'll just order from America and it will be easier for u if u know ur own reputable retailers. I meant $AUS so or will be about $850 american

Thanks so much for this info. Very much appreciated. Just clarifying that this configuration will allow shogun 2 total war on high settings and allow for upgrades for Rome 2 if it needs it???
