Jo, there are many people on this site who really, really have no need to suck it up to The Boss, we are simply grateful. Many of us are happy to get a forum for our mod (or mod in development) here, and are happy to be left alone to work on their mods. Many of us also wander into the non-TW-related fora once in a while because something interesting is discussed here and there. You should consider that your grotesquely generalizing accusations to us simply sucking it up is kinda offending. Not that I'm loosing my sleep because of it.

So, I also thank YOU for providing an outstanding living, breathing example of how patient the staff here are.

I agree with Jo's analysis of the situation.

I've been a part of different forums, in both ends of the spectrum as well when it comes to moderation(Arbitrary, authoritarian and non-accountable or Anarchic, free-for-all and non-regulated).

Both are detrimental for the plurality and size of the Forums, self-management of the individual kind or direct democracy are some of the most idiotic and naive solutions out there(in any internet community whose larger than 1 and has anonymous members there will be a drama-war once the minority feels threatened).

Authoritarian and Arbitrary Moderation Staffs with non-accountable Admins are among the most dangerous for the good nature of sites: not only because trolls and flamers have a really good time getting well-meaning hot heads banned by blind mods hungry for power or else but because in their quest for absolute control they end up generating massive exoduses of people.

In a certain sense TWC's system is a difficult one, it aims for the best of human nature while systematically being wary of our worst aspects: it tries to be meritocratic, descisive, well run, rational and accountable and in those aims the final system(that we currently hold) was created, I have many times disagreed with the overly bureaucratic way of dealing with some complexities, I have also disagreed with many descisions by the tribunals or the Administration but truth is there's not really a site of this size who is as efficiently run and prone to good debate as TWC in the Internet. And as long as you don't manifestly push the limits or the Mods patience you can very well have heated, almost verbally violent debates without that much problems(I know because I have done so in more than once).

Some battles just aren't worth fighting. I think you'd be better off not posting stuff like this, even if you feel you should for two reasons. First of all, it won't change anything, and second of all, the only person it hurts is you. Though I will say that the amount of rule-breaking that has gone on directed at the OP is disappointing.
