    Default Unit pack compatibility 6.3

Looking through various thread.....many advices were to have one localisation pack in the data folder.

    local_en and patch_en are also localisation pack files......should i remove them ?

took patch out and some words were missing....took local out - CTD......put patch back in...worked.

Therefore is local_en useless to have?
    Patch_en seem to be important.

    UPC for new units.

Therefore i need two localisation pack file......

Or is the advices given not clear.....perhaps only one modded localisation file ?

Some clarifications from the experts would be most appreciated.

I have both local_en and UPC 6.3 in the data folder and nothing has gone wrong yet. What those instructions usually mean is having two UPC/3rd party loc files in the data folder is a bad idea.

Don't you get missing words when taking out patch_en and using only local_en and UPC as i do?

Just to compare with your files.
    Patch 11/2/10 12:18 33703
    Local_en 17/1/10 02:53 306495

two UPC/3rd party loc files in the data folder is a bad idea.

Probably why my modded local pack fail

I don't take out patch_en, I've always ignored its existence, hence why I did not mention it. Moving vanilla files with patch in the name out of that data folder is almost always a very bad idea.
