The Scriptorium will be holding its summer writing competition starting this August. Like the previous summer competition, it will have no theme or themed category of any sort, and instead will be a basic competition allowing you to enter in any of the base categories. This competition allows for a little more freedom for the writers that's for sure.

Our announcement thread is here, please go check it out for the full set of rules:

    Other News

Nothing else to report here this time around. We've been slow in the Script through summer and this competition is our biggest thing yet. There may be room for another librarian now as the competition starts, and if not likely afterwards. If you have applied in the past I have remembered your application, though I would much prefer if you just reminded me via PM so I know you are still indeed interested and able to work.

    Article Reviews

Our reviews for the month, this is the highlight of our summer up to now really

Stealthfox has actually made a nifty quick guide to the Scriptorium and Writing Competition instead of our usual reviews this time around.

Everyone hop aboard the Scriptorium's newest feature! Take a seat on the Monorail cat and check out all the Scriptorium has to offer!

Many of you may have seen this editorial and wondered "What exactly is the Scriptorium?" and "What goes on in there?" Well, there's a handy FAQ for just these types of questions. This is the monorail cat's first stop and is a good starting place for anyone wanting to know more about the Script including information about our editorial, writing competitions, info on how you might join the librarians, and even how you can get your own article stored inside the Script. So, now you see it's not all that mysterious after all. The librarians work hard to keep our cult practices hidden from the average user.

The second stop for the library monorail cat is a visit to the catalogues. CATalogues. It's also the monorail cat's favorite stop.

Here you can find all the articles stored in the Scriptorium in an easily accessible and searchable format. Looking for a modding guide? That's catalogue #3. Looking for a strategy guide for a Total War game? Have a look at Catalogue #1. Or perhaps you're just looking for a good leisurely read to complement an afternoon sitting on the porch with a glass of lemonade, then you might want to check catalogues #2 and #5. In lieu of iced lemonade a can of tuna or bits of cat nip may be substituted.

Finally, monorail cat brings us to the Scriptorium's Writing Competition....*link*.... here you can familiarize yourself with everything you need to know about the competition such as rules and categories along with medal and award information. An FAQ is also provided to answer your questions in an easy to read and browse format. Don't delay! Get started on the next competition, the one after that, and the following one now! You can start drafting your outline while the monorail cat returns you to the rail station. Good luck, and I hope to see many entries in the next competition!
