In my experience these silhouettes occur when SSAO is enabled, however I cannot confirm this with Darth's (presumably) new effects, I'll have a look this evening.

Nailed it ! SSAO it was, turned this off, et voila, perfect smoke and not silhouettes !

Darth, as to your question:-
I had everything on Ultra (but particle from Ultra down to low made no difference), Volumetric was on, HDR on.

By the way, If I have not said it before, I love this Mod and like so many really appreciate the time you and all the contributors have put in to it !

I think SSAO already made effects look weird and now with the dense smoke its defection is more visible.
We must inform with a tooltip that SSAO should be Off with the new effects.
Always good comes with user feedback.

PS. Unfortunately I cannot do something to optimise the effects and SSAO.

Would it be a good idea to put together a list of the settings (graphical) you recommend Darth?

I will put a list for a lot of things.
To release the full beta is now the priority.

By the way, can eventually someone provide some good battle pictures?

In the User Interface section of Options. If you set it to minimal user interface you can use F5, F6 & F7 I believe to toggle on/off the command buttons, minimap/clock, and unit cards on the fly.

Yes, I edit the number of units under their game. This applies to the DarthMod: Shogun II and DarthMod Napoleon. And as the only play in your mods, then edit them.
