It's from the First Age, not an event of any sort, and it's an object. Ok, it's a place where lots of elves lived.

Seems like the kinslaying. A couple of them, at least. The last one could be the attack on the Falas, with Elwing throwing herself into the sea with the Silmaril only to be morphed in a bird and reunited with Earendil. Then Earendil, thanks to the Silmaril's power, reached the Valar and "moved" them.

The first is the sacking of dwarves, caused by their greed, and second the murder of Dior and sacking of Menegroth as the "New Dawn", a.k.a Heir of Thingol arrived, and also caused by greed of the silmarils(by the Sons of Feanor this time.)
