Thanks for the "EB2 Dev Blog" and the "EB2 Sneek Peeks"!

EB2 is more advanced than I had expected actually - great work! And kudos to the entire EB-team: models/graphics/animations-department, gameplay/campaign/script-fellows, historians, artists, supporters and all the others... Thanks again! It's totally appreciated!

These models are really good stuff (I esp. like the detailed graphics on the Machimoi's shield):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

@ Petroniu: What about renaming thís thread to: "EB2 Dev Blog & Sneek Peeks - The comments section"? or so...

I agree completely, the shield looks amazing. However, I think I liked the east coast levy better, but I might be biased after playing with Saba for so many times

I would like to see a campaign map sneak peek too. Maybe Greece or Asia Minor. Just a city or two.

Those hoplites look GREAT but I don't think I can run EB2 due to those amazing models.

I'll try to get a new computer for EB2

    Anyways great sneak peak.

I'm worried about the turn times, and I have a pretty good system. I love stainless steel but the game just becomes unplayable once you pile on the scripts. I don't think I've ever finished a campaign in it, seriously started taking up to 8-9 minutes per turn. I hope if there are these complicated scripts for EB2 there is a way to disable them or an alternate version without them.

EDIT: this is amazing guys, I didn't think it was possible to get textures this crisp in MTW2. Who does the texture work?

No plans for that. We have great care with the scripts by terminating them when they are no longer needed, so the worst part is at the start when all are active.

    gustave did these ones.

@Rasic I could run Stainless Steel quite smoothly (On an old business laptop from 2006) the turn times of course is a little slower but it goes way faster than EB1. Now I wish there is some sort of low poly or low res mod for EB2 so I can turn up the unit size for larger battles. Also I agree with Rasic, I hope the script is more efficient.

There is only so much streamlining that can be done afaik, the coding language of M2TW is pretty clunky compared to others like Python imo.

That's good to hear. Don't get me wrong I like all the creative things people do with the scripts, I just don't have the patience for anything past 3 minute turn times.

I have a strange feeling that R2TW isn't going to be able to touch the quality and creativeness I've seen in the shield designs. They really bring these units to life for me.

Has there been any word on any other features that will be implemented in EB2 from m2twk other than the armor feature & province feature?

    Thanks Friends.

We are going to use the Dev Blog to disclose some of that information, because we are in the process of doing the faction mechanics. But just to lift the veil and just from the top of my "mind stack" I can remember: tribal mechanics (competition between tribe chieftains to become the next faction leader ; competition between tribes for the supremacy within the same faction - using achievement points) ; tons of specific historical events, which will test the capability of the player to act in roleplay and not just in grabbing every region at hand - in some cases it will be far more profitable to handover the region to the rebel allies than keep it ; etc. All this can be accomplished due to the scripting opportunitie that MTW2K brought about.

We'll talk about this in future Dev Blogs.

I love that non-shieldbearer cavalry. I'm not and expert but I think all that cavalry with large shields from EB1 and other mods are incorrect. Maybe they used it for dismounted fighting but it should be very dificult to ride with them on hand without stirups.

Just speechless. You guys are putting real efforts in this Mod. Every single picture is so detailed. No doubt i'm excited about TWR2/R2TW/RTW:2 Whatever they all say , But release of EB II, Chills runs down my spine. Thank you guys. Although, My computer won't be able to handle it. (I barely handle Medieval 2: TW Vanilla ). I'll download this, when it comes out.
