Overreacting does not make your point more valid at all. The difference in Rome1 was only noticeable to those that studied the period.

So long as the gameplay is works and is fun then I really wouldnt care.

They are selling a game about city management and war with the rome era as a background and within that they can add whatever they wish to promote the game.

They are not selling a Historical documentary that you can interact with.

Like I said before, so long as the gameplay is solid and fun then I hope they can cater to what you wish. If they cant and gameplay must suffer then I hope they do not.

what’s with all these asinine comments about people thinking that just because CA makes the Egyptians look a little more Egyptian their going to add firearms into the game?
I check into small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell woman at desk I want a room. She tells me room number and give key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there." I take key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It comes from the room across. I cannot sleep so I open door. It is coming from room with no number. I pound on door. No response. I look in keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water still trickling. I go down to front desk to complain. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell story. There was woman in there. Murdered by her husband. Skin all white, except her eyes, which were red. I tell her I don't give a . Stop the water trickling or give me refund. She gave me 100 ruble credit and free breakfast. Such is life in Moscow

No, because i know as Rome II modding will be very limited anyway, i will not purchase the game because i don't want to be STUCK with them, Ramses' armies didn't stop me from buying Rome I because i knew i'd be able to download a realism mod to get rid of them, doing the same thing with Rome II is uncertain at best.

Really? You've always been able to edit the units. It's not that big of a deal.

Other guy? I made this joke individually, I didn't read all the thread before posting this, so I missed that one out!

And don't worry, but I think I was clear when I said Brendan Fraser DLC... the day that doesn't come across as a joke in this forums, it will be a dark day. (Nothing against the actor to be clear).

Would you say that the units are exactly as moddable in Shogun 2 as they are in Rome I?

Yes, yes I would. Unless I'm missing a big piece of the puzzle here. I've modded units to my own tastes in both games and if anything there are more options it seems in the warscape games than the previous games. As far as models and textures go, I can't say what, if anything, has changed but people are still putting out new models and textures so I assume its still working.

Rasic, can you make new animations for the models you have done for Empire, Napoleon and Shogun 2?

And about the game, even when a lot of people say is not, is classified as a simulator by SEGA on his page, it should be as accurate as possible, period. Then if there's enough demand there will be a mod of fantasy and fantastic things like Egyptians from 2000 years before Rome battling Caesar or whatever. Just two things:

    1) I bet the mod won't be able to be made because of the ever increasing constrains on modding.
    2) There won't be enough demand because most people just eat what is feed without questions. Had CA from a begging sticked to realism and accuracy to aim towards the large uninformed masses we won't be having this conversation to begging with.

So, that's the only thing that has changed? Animations? I don't see how that would stop you from modding egyptian units to look a certain way.

I suggest people on this thread actually listen to exactly what Jack said in the interview, he states pretty exactly what CA plans to do with the Egypt faction.

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...7#post11218747

The egypt question is at 16:11

From what he says, I'm not overly worried about what CA plan to do with the Egyptians. He makes it clear that they will be "mainly Ptolemaic" but possibly with slightly more Eqyptian flavour than was present in reality thrown in, for variety. As long as they keep chariots and fancy headdresses out I'll be happy.

One does not simply 'mod' the Warscape Engine.

Cute, but I really don't see how animations are going to stop people from modding the egyptians to their hearts desire. If there are.. you know, the other greek factions in the game I assume there would be proper animations for what you're trying to do.
