They were not as extravagant as the clothes of the other Lords - however they were the only clothes that Edward Longmember owned that were not stained with sweat, blood, or other bodily fluids...

Yes your majesty, I have come to reaffirm my oath of fealty to you, and to ask if there is anything that you would require of me.

"No, No.. I need nothing as of Yet. Repeat after me, I Alfred swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Henry, his heirs and successors, so help me God."

"Majesty, I have come first to meet my monarch and to ask if there is any service I may do for you."

Rufus pauses...his first name...he did not know it. He considered for a brief moment.

"Sir Baldwin Rufus of Leicester, your majesty."

"I need no Knights of Honour currently, of whom I know nothing about whatsoever. I would suggest, Sir Baldwin that you go to your liege in Leicester. Then maybe when you have proven yourself, we can have something for you to do."

The Bishop and Elizabeth are shown to the King as well, and once William had been shown the way out, he sat there awaiting their discussion.
