Seriously, the BF franchise doesn't really have much in common with the ARMA franchise beyond both being FPS's

Theirs a hell of a lot of people who havent touched a pc game besides farmville who would rather buy a quick pick up and play console shooter like BF3 or COD.

Like it will be? Console is DICE's lead platform. You can safely bet on BF4 being nothing more than a trash console port. This is the sole reason I, for one, will never purchase another DICE game.

I remember when I bought a copy of Battlefield Vietnam and on one of the dics was a WW2 Mod for the game...

Now they give us the excuse that the PC has no mod tools because it is too hard to make mod tools for consoles... Yeah.

And as much as I find the game to be flawed and disappointing I still do find it somewhat entertaining rambo'ing the entire enemy team with the MBT... Sadly I've discovered that the nerf-squad has been succesfully in firmly making the Tunguska a near useless vehicle in annihilating stuff. (I've had a 4-5 month break...)

DICE should probably hold off on making Battlefield 4 until the next generation and focus on Battlefield 3 and letting us mod it.

I bet they want to, but EA owns them in their entirety they cannot do anything without EA's approval.

Don't you guys think It feels like they should change the time-setting already? We have had so many modern warfare titles lately, and I must say that even though I'm not a big fan of Call of Duty, at least they deserve some respect for changing time-setting. I was personally hoping Battlefield 4 would take place during WWII since the last game I played from that time was World at War. I'd hoped to see some kind of 1942 remake. Well, can't always get what you want can you?

COD MW came out 2007, BF2 in 2005.
And Ghost recon has been a modern shooter since forever.
Call of Duty deserves no respect for changing time setting. And yes, vietnam has been done before.

The only thing COD can be praised for is COD 4 MW, which innovated game play in FPS a tremendous amount. Future COD games took that, cut it down, concentrated it and repeated it.

I imagine I'm wrong on this, but DICE could surely negotiate with EA to let them hold off until the next generation.

They could argue that they would focus on improving BF3 in the meantime so Holger Danske and I_WUB_PUGS will finally quit complaining.

That's why it's all the more satisfying when you finally pull off a big push for an objective.

ARMA definitely isn't for everyone though, more than a few times I've stood around for like 40 minutes for 10 minutes of combat and then get shot.

To get on topic about BF4 are there any trailers or anything? Any indication of how similar or different it will be to BF3?
