    Icon2 Retrofit 2 Hotseat - Reborn

    On this day, a doomed world, which simply refused to give up hope and die, has reborn.
    But we shall see how long it will last, as war, has only just started again...


    A revival of Retrofit 2 HS original made by Vasilefs, later admined by Loose Cannon, now by me.

    For participating in this hotseat:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    * Retrofit Mod is required + this small modification where Vasilefs changed some files for better balance of campaign.
    *Extract rar folder from above into your mods folder (for example C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods )

    Mod content
    *instead of wooden forts players can build permanent stone forts,new forts cost is 5000(4 free upkeep slots) ,watchtowers now cost 500
    *Land bridges removed
    *Number of available spies,assassins and diplomats is now limited (similar to merchants and priests)
    *Mercenaries removed

    Optionally (if you're playing in another hotseat which uses original retrofit mod) you can have two versions of the retrofit mod, the original one and another one (with our modification) for this hotseat.
    Read THIS GUIDE to find out how to have 2 copies of a mod.

    RULES:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    *Buildings

    -It is not allowed to destroy any buildings if the settlement is under siege or at risk of being taken/besieged in 1 turn.
    -Only religious buildings, inns and guilds are allowed to be destroyed if you're in control of the city for at least 2 turns.

    *Settlements

    -If player get settlement trough diplomacy all units except 1 have to be disbanded immediately!
    -You are not allowed to exterminate a settlement . This is because it will destroy many buildings in the settlement (Possibly downgrade a settlement). This is also valid against the AI. Extermination is only allowed if the settlement has more than 60% of the population converted to another religion. (Example: If you are a Catholic faction, you can't exterminate settlements with at least 40% of the population converted to catholicism. Only sack or occupation are the possible options in that case)
    -You are not allowed to gift a region that is in a war zone (bordering by land a faction you are at war) to another faction with whom the other one is at peace

    *Ports&Fleets

    -Ships can't leave port if port is blocked by enemy fleet
    -It is not allowed Armies or Agents to be inside ships docked in ports
    -No attacking ships inside ports.

    *Battles

    -Battles between human players have to be auto-resolved
    -Screenshots have to be posted,one with odds and one with results of battle (In siege battles the siege unit card used must be shown in at least 1 of these 2 screens)
    -Battles against AI can be played
    -Armies that are defeated in battle by player that comes after them in that turn may not move the following turn (army has to be frozen)
    -No circling armies in order to destroy them entirely. It means no surrounding enemy army with several single units. Blocks of landbridge ,bridges or similar, to cut the retreat is allowed if not in contact with the enemy army (which means the red zone around the enemy army)
    -Heroic victories are banned. Reload until you get another result.
    -You are not allowed to sally out if you are defeated. Either reload until you get a draw or a victory, either do not sally at all.

    *Crusades\Jihads

    -Armies on crusade/jihad must use 2/3 of movement points towards the target city/castle. They may attack any field army/fort of the target faction on the way to the target, but may not attack other cities/castles. Armies/forts of factions allied to the target faction may be attacked if directly blocking the path of movement. i.e a river crossing or mountain pass.
    -Only one Jihad\Crusade army per faction at a time is allowed.

    *Agents

    -Spies can't be used to open gates of settlements or forts. Also it's not allowed to use spies to spread the plague in any way.
    -No exploiting merchants in form of merchant stack (putting more than one merchant into army or fort securing resource
    -You can seize merchants of other human factions only in your own regions.
    -Each faction cannot recruit more than 1 assassin every 10 regions owned. So to recruit the second assassin you'd need to own 11 regions or more. For the third 21 or more and so on.. If you have 11 regions and 2 assasins, and after some turns the number of regions decrease to 10 or less you must immediately suicide one of the assassins.
    -Assassins can sabotage everywhere. Assassins can only kill: Priests/imams, spies, assassins, merchants, captains, generals, but only in your regions or allied regions (like officially shown in the diplomacy scroll). So everything except Family Members and princesses.

    *Other
    -Only 2 forts per region is allowed
    -Reloading is ALLOWED
    -All bugs in general are banned unless explicitly allowed.
    -Movement bug is banned.
    -Any new player taking command of a faction previously held by another player cannot attack a faction he's officially allied with for at least 5 turns, or until the allies of that faction break the deal.

    -If someone suspects another player has broken a rule please report it to the admin through a private message, don't post it in the thread!!!

    -Difficulty is MEDIUM for campaign and VERY HARD for battles
    -Personal insults in-game will not be tolerated and will be enforced with a ban from the hotseat. *Exception -Insults are allowed IF it is in character (i.e such as you are a king insulting another leader). These are acceptable...
    - Any actions that may be considered an exploit will be judged by the administrator and other players that are part of this hotseat before decision is made
    - Turns must be posted within 24 hours of previous turn(+ 12 additional hours for SUB if turn is not played),You may choose who you wish to be your sub throughout the game (Your ally, friend ect.) or alternatively, the player furthest away will be the sub. OR, If I feel my subbing wouldn't be biased, I'll sub the turn.

    -It's not allowed to intentionally destroy your own faction. This includes but is not limited to moving your armies into obviously bad positions, gifting most of your regions to any other faction etc.

    Some rules have been changed/added. Everyone please read them again and now or never, please make suggestions/complaints about which rules to add/change. Also please tell if some rules i changed/added are not suitable for retrofit mod for some reason.

    Also map updates have been posted.

    We will continue from last played turn, now it's Venice turn 62. If player for Venice isn't found in 3 days (debatable) i'll probably sub until we find one.

    Do i just replace the original retrofit data folder with the modded one from the old thread?

    After you installed Retrofid mod (like it seems you did), you need to downloa dthe file attached in this post:

    Uncompress the files and merge those files (overwrite) with the folders in Retrofit folder .

    OP updated. cleared pass and sent to new venice player.

    Everyone who has more than 1 assassin per 10 regions have about 3 turns to suicide their extra assassins, if there are any.

    From now on, only 1 fort per region is allowed!!!. I don't know why any rule like this wasn't put...

    The reason is that forts are more expansive than usual with this mod (5k).

    I'd like to propose to have the limit raised to 2 forts per regions: in some regions I have 2 forts and the fort costed me, and when I built them I couldn't imagine rules would have changed.

    I concur with 2 forts a region, i also have regions with 2 forts ( pretty sure )
    I also prefer being allowed two forts in general regardless of cost

    Assassins as well don't have to have a big limit, Vasi allready delt with that, you need to have a certen amount of citys or something to get them in a bigger number. Of course you can put that rule, allthough I need thoes 2 assassins of mine.

    Hmm, alright then. 2 forts per region then. Better than infinite forts...

    Currently with Vasi's changes, you can train 1 assassin for every inn, a tavern has a limit of 2 assassins, and coaching house 3. So about 2 cities with tavern and 2 large towns with inn give 6 assassins. Too much i think. If people want i can change to 1 assassin for 8 regions, but Invicta told me 10 is better, and also easier to calculate.

    Yes : with reloading allowed someone might spam and abuse with them (and it would be within the rules).
    It's better to prevent that: I already faced an assassin TW HS and it's not funny at all.
