Long story short: Restart, yes or no?

We currently find ourselves with a mod team of three and a player base of five. Obviously some big changes need to be made and so should we decide to restart, GSTK will be put on hold. A number of appropriate restart dates will be found and then posted in The Consulate as a multiple choice poll for any interested future player to vote on.

Last but by no means least, many thanks to those of you who have endured with this current version of the game, doing what you can to keep it going rather than fleeing the metaphorical sinking ship.

Posts in this thread by anyone other than those listed above will be deleted. Those who place a vote in this poll other than those named above will be breaking the TOS 1.6.7.

Hmmm... Perhaps England has outlived its usefullness? Perhaps France or something else would suffice? If not, maybe we could either go back to 1066 or 1177 (third crusade) or perhaps playing as the Saxons or Norwegians instead of the Normans.

GSTK is and will always be England for me.

1066 obviously didn't work. Way too chaotic era. The idea of playing as saxons and norwegians are not bad, but not plausible in the long run.

We'll be keeping with England and certainly not 1066 again. Crusades are a possible option but we can see from these last two restarts that people expect things to be handed to them, they do not want to fight it out in a meritocracy. If that's what we have to do to gain more players then so be it but that means we can't stage the restart too near any contentious times. Ideally, full royal power needs to hold sway, with no internal rumblings and a juicy target somewhere on the horizon for when people are actually willing to play rather than sit around with their begging bowls.

Indeed, we need to start in a stable period of time, that's not to late era and not too boring. Perhaps the reign of Henry I, Henry II, Edward I, Edward III, Richard II, or an altnate history that Harald has crowned himself king of England and now William is his only obstacle.

I don't mind a restart, or keeping with the current game.

But if there is to be a restart, I sort of have to agree with Carl about 1066.

Perhaps during the Second Baron's War or somewhat before it we could restart?
