Icon4 Hotfix released to resolve movement error

Please download, extract and overwrite the descr_character.txt file which can be found at the bottom of this post in a rar file format:
New!! KGCM v4.3 one file install instructions with download links

This corrects an error which occured when trying to move armies with a named general attached and the movement range was less than an army not led by a general. For more information, please see the FAQ thread.
Why do units lose movement range when any general (with no movement traits) joins them?

Thank you to [Celtíbero]Mencey and vipman for first bringing this error to our attention, providing the fix and testing.

May it be possible that the hotfix has caused another movement bug? Kievan units move a lot less:

    Kievan balista movement range:

    Novgorod balista movement range:

    Lithuanian balistar movement range:

Hmm, why are the roads different in first image from others? In the last ones the ballista has a straight road to Smolensk, in first one it's not straight anymore.

It seems like the part with missing road is almost equal to that of the extra movement points of ballista in last pics. However I have a feeling that too much movement points would be given by simple roads if it were true
But the roads make me ask something else: are you 100% sure you tested these with the same mod and with hotfix applied?

I don't understand how would this fix create another movement bug. In vanilla and all mods the general (meaning captain) and character movement points have equal value.

PS the descr_character file hotfix is no longer in that thread. Stylix must have deleted most of his attachments like many other people to save space on TWC for the upcoming update of vbulletin

It's not a movement bug, it's a mapping bug. I've got the same roads as shown in [Celtibero]Mencey's screen shots. I checked Kiev and Novgorod in my install of 4.3, then went and deleted my map.rwm file for the mod. Checked again and got the same different roads. Then I checked my install of 4.2 with HS patch and guess what-same problem. The roads are different for Kiev and Lithuania. And then deleted that map.rwm file and tried again. Still got the different roads.

Sorry I don't quite understand, you mean on both mods the roads change every time you delete the map.rwm? Or that in 4.3 it's 1 type of roads and in 4.2+HS patch it's the other type of roads?

Yes, in both versions (4.3 and 4.2 w/HS patch) Kiev gets a different map than Lithuania or Novgorod. Deleting map.rwm and retrying should have erased the problem-but it didn't!!

Try it on yours. Start a singleplayer game and turn off FOW. Check Kiev and Lithuania and see what you get.

@[C]M I'm surprised too about not noticing it before either. But maybe it can be fixed?

Wow, that is very weird. I would have tested this myself but I deleted the kgcm's as I don't plan on playing a hotseat with it and my HD is rather small (80GB) ...
