Ode to the dying chat thread:

Today, while partaking of the succulent remains of my first kill I made a startling realization: the chat thread is very much like my victim.

We have fed and nurtured the Chat Thread over the course of the "year" allowing it grow fatter and fatter with posts. And like in my victim's case there comes a "Saint Igantius Day" when one of the household men (moderators) must stick the knife in it's thick neck and sacrifice it.
But this sacrifice is not an evil act. Like my victim this act will help provide the "family" (users) for many months to come, but not with Sausages, Leibar or delicious pig-fat (original name: jumari) but with increased rep ratio, new aspirations and new possibilities for citizenship or spammery (according to each member's alignment).

Like my victim, this thread shall be honored in its death. And like my victim it shall be missed.
