I'm new here and not sure exactly wher to make this post, so if anyone could assist me, I'd appreciate it.
I have played Empire Total War and Napoleon Total War for a few months now and enjoy it.
Watched a few Youtube vids of mods for the American Civil War, looked into it further and found Brothers against Brothers.
Downloaded it, installed it and it seems to 'want' to work but can't seem to get off the ground so to speak.
I'm running the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professioinal and am wondering if that could be the reason I'm not having any success.
Also, any directioin as to where to look for additional assistance would be great.

    Thanks everyone!
    Steve.

    Hi,
I am new to this board, but have been playing ETW and NTW for a couple months now.
I downloaded one of the mods for the brothers against brothers mod and it 'seems' to have installed but when I attempt to launch from the desktop icon, it attempts to load but eventually fails. Any suggestions would be welcomed. BTW, I have an ancestor who fought in the 2nv Virginia Infantry, The Stonewall Brigade, under Thomas Jackson.
So, hopefully, you might help a fellow 'Suthin' boy' out ?
    Thanks kindly,
    Stephen.

Somebody has probably already mentioned this, but they should simply make Victoria Total War and add a Civil War DLC with an enhanced U.S campaign map. This would make sense as the Civil War isn't diverse and vast enough to make it into it's own game, and the Civil War occurred during the times of Victorian Britain

While every self-respecting TW fan should get some pleasure out of grinding armies of gray-clad rebels into the dust, I don't really look forward that much to the TW: Victoria concept, and I think that the American Civil War would best be an expansion of the TWV idea (I don't look foward to the TW: Victoria idea that much, but I look forward to a standalone American Civil War game less). I'd rather stick a game into the interstices between the end of Medieval and the beginning of Empire. (Total War: Renaissance?) A game which covers the 30 years war, the Ottoman-Saffavid wars, the increasing instability of the Ming and the rise of the Manchus, the Japanese invasion of Korea (and the Korean response -- rapid fire rocket launchers, ironclads, etc), the invasion of the Americas. Maybe a game which goes back before Rome (Total War: Cyrus?) or a game which takes place between the end of Barbarian Invasion and the beginning of Medieval II during the dark ages (Total War: Caliphate?) would be good.

In fact, I think maybe TW: Caliphate might be good, since the poor documentation of the era in much of Europe would make it easier to get away with "creative history." (If the American Civil War had taken place in sub-Roman Britain, our written record of it would be something like "Abraham the Tall crushed the Confederatist revolt with a mighty blow, emancipated the slaves, and built many tracks of iron for steam-carts throughout the American Union.")

The American Civil War, IMHO, is best handled by more scripted wargames than TW. Part of TW is supposed to be that you can make alliances or war in unexpected directions. Maybe Ptolemaic Egypt and Seleucid Syria unite against the Parthian-Roman alliance. Maybe the Spanish and Moors are united against Franco-Turkish coalition. Given the existence of Scourge of War, etc, I'd just as soon see CA give the ACW a miss.
