Default Greek trade routes = Balanced or Overpowered again?

Who here thinks we'll actually get a balanced trade system going in RTW2?

I'd always be struggling for money with pretty much every other faction, but as Greeks I could literally spam purchase every building/upgrade and max out armies as if I was using cheats. I'd always end with 30million+ denari after a prolonged campaign game as the Greek City States, and that's not even including all the money spent on maxing out every possible thing on VH/VH.

But I don't actually think I was good at the game at all because with other factions I could NEVER handle the money right, I'd never be able to save up money - it was a constant struggle...but as Greeks...it was just so much easier.

I couldn't even reach anywhere near that level of wealth even with any of the Roman factions. I'd be just as poor as Roman factions.

The only other faction that came close as being easy with money making through trade-routes was for some reason playing as Egypt....to this day I still don't understand why that was that case...but regardless Egypt was still very far behind the wealth I'd accumulate playing as Greeks.

Does anyone remember this stuff and does anyone actually know why this was the case? I'm hoping at least the developers for RTW2 remember this with RTW and some how create a much more balanced trading system.
    your sig is too large.

It was because of the Greek wonder that gives a bonus to trade most likely. And the fact that tons of their cities had ports. IMO, it isn't that unbalanced, it just makes Greece a major asset. The Greeks needed it considering their neighbors (Romans, Macedonians, Pontus, Seleucids) for the most part all had better armies.

The Greeks had awesome trade because they had the Colossus of Rhodes that gave them 40% bonus to naval trade. Also, the statue of Zeus gave them loyalty in the settlements and with that comes greater tax revenue. And whoever conquered Greece in Rome I had lots of cash. Like when you played the Brutii, you would have tons of denarii.
Barely waiting on Med2 ancient era mod DE BELLO MUNDI !!! Check it out!

What is wrong with certain regions offering tons of cash?
Egypt and Greece were known for their riches back then. And we need some wealthy provinces to gain the upperhand in a long campaign. These ones would then be major war theatres between many factions.
Maybe some fine-tuning is needed to make the starting factions not as overpowered, but the basic-concept was right imho.

I only hope they make spain richer than in RTW. Spain after the Punic Wars was a real turning point for Rome economically
