A live trailer is now available after the fresh announcement that Total War: Rome II will be released Christmas 2013! Other details of the newly announced title have also emerged:
  • A Rome II fact-sheet, artwork and two screenshots are available in an official press wire from Sega.
  • IGN has an in-depth preview, as does PC Gamer. The game will look to be more in-touch with the human side to Rome's story. Moral decisions such as becoming a dictator or supporting the Republic are featured. A new camera system, with a bigger battle map environment and facial animations for each unit are also hinted. AI is said to be vastly improved, as is the campaign map with provinces broken up into hundreds of regions.
  • PC Gamer has a couple of interviews with Lead TW Designers James Russell and Jamie Ferguson. They talk about the choice to return to Rome, greater interactions between land and naval forces, and pushing the envelope with the likes of a new graphics engine and incredible battle detail.
  • Creative Assembly's Jack Lusted will be chronicling Rome II on the road to release with unique screenshots and discussion about the games features.
