A Game could use some mods like it has done with its older self, could keep a game alive for me an extra year before getting bored after 1 playthrough or less.
Also why is their no discussion about Modding its really one of the biggest FUN things to happen in gaming in its quite aging life time. I guess Unit DLCs and map/region DLCs are a major thing in Digital Gaming since we moved on from modern gaming, but thats really the only thing, reason modding isnt so caught up with gaming these days is cause gaming itself keeps neglecting it and it should be about time for CA to change that and they did in some ways with the Battle map editor, but it cant just stop their maybe a less hardcoded engine with maybe some features to support modding like an editor but thats just asking too much so maybe just the ability to mod campaign maps and units and such like was done to Medieval's and one popular mod TATW.
A recent example of why modding can add more to a community - Anyone heard of some small maybe nothing mod called DayZ
