I doubt if they were the same from S1 to S2.

I'd rather have better ones than the old ones.

Agree with Hayro. I love that centurion (as a friend!) and faction leader.

What would be great with the voices would be Latin responses etc.

Australians? They were good, but isn't this one being made in the UK?

Why obviously. They've (apparently) re-hired Jeff Van Dyck and if he is doing it then he will almost bring in his missus again to do the, might I say, delightful singing. I hope that Centurion voice actor gets a part again for Rome 2: Total War

I personally prefer the voice actors of older games....I prefer them over the ones since ETW and newer...

I found the voice actors in Empire to be really funny - the woman on the campaign map's delivery of her lines was spot on - with adlibbed sighs and gasps and things like that (yes) and the battlemap advisor was hilariously patronising.

Well Jeff Van Dyke (and his wife) is great.
But, given the size of the franchise, surely there's a wider selection pool now, more people must be clambering to take part in this project.......... let some new blood get a chance.

    Oh, please no!
Nothing as immersive-breaking as Romans that speak English with a fat American accent.

    I hope they'll use proper Latin-/Greek-/Celtic-/etc-sounding units!

There's one tiny problem with that - many of the languages aren't actually in use any more. And I don't think the general's speeches have anywhere near the impact if you're reading what he's saying, as opposed to hearing it.

    Ya that's the problem.
But it could be made an option for Latin and Greek speaking factions etc.

I swear to god if I have to hear the Roman battlefield announcer's voice one more time I'm going to stab Jack Lusted.

I just need the guy who did the Romans, Barbarians & Persians. I don't really care much of the rest.

But they better write epic & interesting battle speeches. I feel that battle speeches in M2 & Shogun 2 custom battles are crap compared to RTW where both custom battles & campaigns are great.

The Roman General sounded more American to me than Australian.

How about the use of more authentic languages? I actually disliked the voices in RTW because they were too comical. I liked the voice actor from Medieval 1 Total War and Brian Blessed.
