I just start this thread for the one who wants that this mod continue, beside Rome 2 TW is announced.
I think that this job is incredible because of the historic exactitude, of the graphic job, and the different possibilities of gameplay.

Don't worry dude, EB2 team won't stop now just because R2 is coming out. Also, for those experienced and hardcore realism and historical accurate fans EB2 on a new engine will be their Rome 2. You can't compare the two. The EB2 team can sit at ease and continue their work, especially since they are doing it on the last truly modding compatible engine of the TW series. Ain't nothing to worry for EB2, I'm telling you.![]()

@Arandir Tur-Anion:
It's summer-holidays/vacation/time/etc atm... so not that much going on here. That said, I agree with you - altough Rome2 and EBII aren't in the same league:
One is a grand!, bombastic!, eagerly-awaited!, totally hyped game - and the other is Rome2... [= corny joke]
I probably won't bother with R2 due to the strong chance it will posess the same issues which ruined empire
...eagerly awaiting EB2 basically
You guys will almost certainly do a better job than anything CA will manage. Your great work will not be forgotten by me
but was CA ever brought to shame over how accurate yet playable EB was? i certainly enjoyed EB, not just for the facts but also the hardcore decisions i had to make both in campaign and the longer non-blitzing battles.
all hail the flying spaghetti monster!

I wonder if we'll get an EB3 if Rome 2 turns out to be appropriately moddable.
I can't seem to find an "edit" button so I can't add this to my previous post but the title is wrong.
It should be "I continue supporting your incredible work". It would probably sound better as "I am going to continue supporting your incredible work" though.
I must agree with you, the EB II is fantastic. Itīs the only reason I bought the M2TW gold edition.
I hope we will see some preview for EB II soon - there was a mini-preview announced last month![]()
You bought a game for a mod that hasn't even been released yet?
Hell, it may never be.
Unfortunately it may be the case. If it ever is released, and I still have M2TW installed, I'll definitely try it.
At this point though I'm not holding my breath. It's been years, and with no community inclusion I can't see how they expect to drum up interest a couple years (or more...) down the road. The reason Third Age and Stainless Steel are successful and polished is because they were released, and the teams had a chance to draw ideas/manpower/etc from the active community. Just look at the Sub-Mod forum for Third Age. I've never seen anything like it.
I don't see EB2 having the same advantage of such a massive and supportive player community, especially year(s) down the road
It will be worth waiting just to invade Greece with the Boii or unite all the greek colonies with KH. As per thread topic, I support youre fine work also!
"non atrocitate, non clementia mutabatur" changed neither by cruelty nor by clemency. Tacitus writing about the Silurae
I also bought M2TW specifically for this mod. The day I get to use it for that purpose will be a sweet one.
To the original question: Who doesn't?![]()
From what i have heard, Rome 2 will be an entirely different game. Comparing it to EB 2 doesnt work. Its like having a Ferrari body with a four cylinder. If CA doesnt mess up, rome 2 will overshadow EB, especially if they make it easier to mod. I sincerely think that Rome 2 will be released before EB II.

I still remember my feelings when I doscivered and started playing EB I. At that point I said to myself, now this is a truly jaw-dropping experience! EB intsilled soul into the body of vanilla RTW. I am really greatfull that I had the chance to play EB in the first place and I extend my sincere thanks to all ex and current EB modders.
EB II may or may not be completed before Rome II, but it should be well understood that these games will offer a different experience to the player. Additionally, anyone who has been around for a while, should have realised that it takes CA several months to somewhat polish their games or at least get rid of basic bugs. In the meantime we may be lucky enough to see the release of EBII, which would be great.
In any case, as a non-modder myself I can only say bravo! to EB members for their accomplishments so far and their on-going efforts.

From what ive read Rome 2 will be quite modable...when asked whether mod tools will be included with Rome 2 the studio director said ""we haven't specifically said that yet, but I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case." and on requests for modding tools by the community "What they actually want is a toolset and capabilities which are better than what we actually have ourselves. They don't realise quite what a horrendous and manual process putting together some of these systems is! As we develop our own tools it becomes easier for us to support modders, so we're intending to do that." So im optimistic towards the moddable possibility of Rome 2![]()
