Default Features you want to see in Rome 2

So with the release of the highly anticipated Rome 2 Total War we know we're going to get the greatly requested shore landings from the looks of things. CA asked this with Shogun 2 and it no doubt helped them.

So heres the question, what features do you want to see in Rome 2 Total War?

    --------------------------------------------------------------

I'd say let's try to keep this place a bit structured and organized, especially now with all the emotions coming up
So please use this thread when you would like to talk about any features you wish for and/or want to discuss.

    Thank you.

I think it would be good if we made this thread stickied.

Historical accuracy, lots of factions, but not a too complicated game

Grand Campaign map with map extended to India.
    Historical accuracy.
More focus put on non-Roman factions.
Starting date when Rome wasn't too big.

I don't want hardcore historical accuracy to be honest. Rome 1 and Medieval 2 didn't have it and they were both great. Historical accuracy is subtle, with the encyclopedia I think its brilliant and hopefully modders will take care of the die-hard historical accuracy. I do agree with it being more historical than its predecessor but only to the level of Shogun 2.

sea landing battles have to be the "new" feature...we already saw a development with this in FotS (sea artillery) and pre-Shogun 2 they said it would happen.

Please let there be a new engine that doesn't lag or feel heavy too...

All factions are playable according to this article.

You can play the campaign from the off as any of the nations on Rome II’s map, that mass choice of cultures and combat styles that Rome’s wannabe empire and its enemies comprised – each with their own tech trees, content and internal conflict

Is there any point in asking what we want ?/ will CA actually take any notice ?

I want class warfare - Patricians V Plebs.
I want accurate units, no more samey legionaries.
I want accurate formations - phalanx - is either 4, 8 or 16 deep! not any fantasy number.
I want the 7 hills of Rome
I want more Strategic options - religions, lower-class agents to negotiate with
    etc

The ability to found new places, kinda like forts but you do have build/recruit and upgrade options and they make income, that would be epic.

Also, I hope they go back to more buildings in region capitals, more then there were in RTW and M2TW even, being able to build only like 5 things in a city sucks.

And of course more of everything, more units, more regions, more factions, more agents, more epicness.

This. I also prefer to play with the Barbarians and the Seleucids.

Yes, I saw afterwards, although I'm a bit concerned its just a gimmicky way of starting the battle instead of a proper landing with enemy defences on the beach, etc...

Basically, I want the sea landing from "Troy" to be in there...

I'd like the town view feature to return from Rome 1, watching civilians and groups of soldiers walk around your city. Buildings as they are being built. I always enjoyed it despite being a minor feature.

More 'What if' units. Total War is not meant to be historical, remember that. Some Barbarian factions could adopt technologies. Reform their societies, city structures, armor types etc. at least to the technological level of either Carthage, Greece or the Ptolemaics.

Wonders of the world returning. Library of Alexandria could provide a MASSIVE technological boost.

I have to agree with all the points thus far!

I want more control over my Empire. Being the favourite in the senate or of your people ment you could bend their will to suit your needs. That's something I'd like to see with being able go down different ahistorical routes with units.

-No units or faction DLCs, include those stuff in the full release (that means I don't care if you sell DLCs that's not these 2)
-Great battle speeches that I'd want to listen through all of them, make it impressive like the "fighting like lion" or "eagles fly to the east" or the best one "The Roman gods are watching, make sure they are not ashamed!!!!" & so on. If the guy who did the battle speech from the first game would do it for this one that would be awesome.
-More personal (though I already think the 1st RTW is personal enough)
    -Drama (coz it's Roman period)
-Destructible buildings like in the 1st game
-Selecting a taxing system before starting a campaign between the original one from RTW & Shogun 2
-Make an option between Modified & Classic. For classic, let city management & everything looks like in the first RTW while Modified, be the whatever dumbed down version of that thing. I love the management of the first game, it really feels like I'm doing something, Shogun 2 feels too hollow for me at the managing part.
-Keep Jeff van Dyck to do the soundtracks & let his wife sings the credits
-I like that last 17 seconds from the trailer, is that an adaptation from the first game main theme? It sounds great, i want to hear the full track of that.
    -TRIARII!!!
    -UNLEASH HELL!!!!!
-FMV sequences with casts of the actors & actresses from some famous Roman movies or shows? XD
-Adaptations of the tracks in the 1st game? Because I like all of them
-Options to look at your cities like in the first game? I don't know how many people even use that but I do & I love it
-Each cities has different layouts from one another
-If my hopes aren't too high, options for barbarians to ransack buildings during the battle or options for soldiers to entrench in buildings or some sort. I need palace fights (that means I need castle fights for Medieval 3) What's the point of having a good looking palace or castle if my troops never run inside them & fighting along the walkways eh?

Just read the preview on PCgamer
I'm against dumbing down the micromanagement, but I welcome the policy for the region, I want that to be added on top of the micromanagement. I want that dumbed down version to be optional, something to tick before starting a campaign or switch during campaigns so tutorial advisor can tell the player they can do that, because for me, the fun is the micromanagement. Lastly, I don't think forging an empire requires only army, but the happiness of the people as well, that's the pillar of an empire & I want to manage cities to make sure that pillar is strong.

-Don't tie it to Steam because I hate Steam
