Default World War II Researcher(s) needed for new Kingdoms mod - details within -

I am looking for anyone willing to do quality research on culture, geography and technology around the world at the time of the second world war. The game will include a full world map with many regions and a long list of countries. The time period will span 1937-1950+. If anyone is interested in this period and wants to become part of the project, please post here or PM and we can talk. If anyone would like to hear more about the mod, do the same.

P.S. It isn't quite as ambitious as it sounds, PM for info.

    World War 2 eh?

I've been working on researching a Napoleonic-Cold War "Total War 2: Modern Warfare" game. 2 Campaign maps for Atlantic and Pacific Campaigns Campaigns so as to have some degree of detail (one map for everything is like world conquest for ants. It needs to be like 3x larger.) The Western Hemisphere one is pretty much focused on Europe in terms of factions although there are quite a few in the Americas. Africa is pretty much an open season for Imperialism outside of the Ottoman and Ethiopians. The Eastern campaign naturally gravitates around European interests in the Indian subcontinent, the Chinese sphere, and such.

Not that it's necessary to do that much.

    Factions:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Faction:
British Empire – The British Empire
Empire Français – The Empire of France
Reino de Portugal – The Kingdom of Portugal
Reino de España – The Kingdom of Spain
Koninkrijk der Nederlanden – The Kingdom of Netherlands
Koninkrijk België - The Kingdom of Belgium
Königreich Preußen – The Kingdom of Prussia
Kaisertum Österreich – The Austrian Empire
Großdeutsches Reich (Prussia and Austria) – The Greater German Realm
Regnu dî Dui Sicili – The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies
Regno di Sardegna – The Kingdom of Sardinia
Rzeczpospolita Polska – The Commonwealth of Poland
Rossiyskaya Imperiya – The Russian Empire
Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik – The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Osmanlı İmparatorluğu – The Ottoman Empire
    Sultanate-e-Mughliya – The Mughal Empire
Marāṭhā Sāmrājya – The Maratha Empire
Thai-phìn Thiên-koet – The Great Peaceful Kingdom of Heaven
Dà Qīng – The Great Qing Empire
Zhōnghuá Mínguó – The Republic of China
Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó – The People’s Republic of China
Dai Nippon Teikoku – The Great Japanese Empire
United States of America – The United States of America
Confederate States of America (Vassal of the USA) – The Confederate States of America
Estados Unidos Mexicanos (Vassal of Spain) – The United States of Mexico
República Federal de Centroamérica (Vassal of Mexico) – The Federal Republic of Central America
República de Colombia (Vassal of Spain) – The Republic of Colombia
Império do Brasil (Vassal of Portugal) – The Brazilian Empire
Provincias Unidas en Sud-América (Vassal of Spain) – The United Provinces of South America
Mängəstä Ityop'p'ya – The Empire of Ethiopia

I think there are like 65 units, but most of them would be used by many factions. Units fall into four tiers of advancement in my head. For France that would be Napoleon I, Napoleon III, Clemenceau, and De Gaulle. For America it would be Jackson, Scott, Pershing, and Marshall, etc. Basically Napoleonic, Post Napoleonic, Great War, Post Great War. Its quite probable there would be Early Units which can Armor upgrade the various guises of the 19th century. Late Units might do the various guises of the 20th century. In that scenario there's probably going to be another 15-30 units needed although if you want to focus on 20th century it wouldn't come up. Cavalry wouldn't need different stats, but infantry would. A Brown Bess and an Enfield are relatively similar but an Enfield and Lee-Enfield are very different animals.

Although obviously it isn't necessary to do all that, that's just what I'd been thinking about. World War 2 would need far less to be successful and you could change the factions quite a bit.

That's a very interesting idea to say the least, but also quite different from what I have planned (although there is definitely overlap). Couple thoughts:

    1. I was under the impression that Napoleon and Empire could not yet be modded to include a new campaign map, is this incorrect? This is the main reason that I've decided to do a Kingdoms based mod.

    2. My game is not going to be entirely Total War-esque, a partial explanation here. Read down a couple posts.

    3. That idea seems to have a great amount of overlap (at least with textures and content) with The Great War mod for Napoleon. Perhaps your mod could use some of their content?

If you are interested in helping out with my mod, by all means PM and I can tell you a little more about what I'm interested in doing.

Indeed. The new engine is zany.

    2. My game is not going to be entirely Total War-esque, a partial explanation here. Read down a couple posts.
    Yes, it sounds rather good.

    3. That idea seems to have a great amount of overlap (at least with textures and content) with The Great War mod for Napoleon. Perhaps your mod could use some of their content?
Perhaps. I'm not sure how similar the engines are. I skipped Empire and Napoleon and went to Shogun.

If you are interested in helping out with my mod, by all means PM and I can tell you a little more about what I'm interested in doing.
I read your idea in the other thread about the auto resolve. Pretty clever. I mean you lose a small part of the game play and get a lot in exchange. I'd never considered that.

It would actually be far easier to do what I was suggesting if it was just a campaign map game.
