Problem with game
i have NTW on steam and was excited to see this, but when i downloaded 4.5 4.6 and 4.6.1 when i started the game, it went to the initia screen (says Napoleon Total War on top with all the copyright mumbo jumbo below) froze and crashed every time, which sucks, i tried the data checker, but they were all verified
help?

Your game is fully updated to patch 6?
Are you using modmanager or user.script to load? Either way, please post the contents here, exactly.

Go to the ntw mod workshop, and then the tools&tutorials section. Somewhere there you will find a thread for the modmanager. Download it and follow the instructions.Originally Posted by locoace3

wait, will i need to do all kinds of techie stuff, because i'm not really a computer person, i had to take a few tries to download a mod that needed to be moved to a specific place (different TW game), and that seems fairly simple

Look, I'm trying to help you out here. There's nothing 'techie' about it. If the game is correctly installed, its just clicking a button, but if it isn't, then you need to either find your user.script or download modmanager to make sure the mod is loading properly.
Both of these can be found through a simple forum search, but if that's too complicated then I can't help you.

this workt by me
Go to C:/Programs/Steam/SteamApps/NapoleonTotalWar/data
Find the file patch6.pack.
Create a folder. Name it "patch6backup" or anything else suitable.
Put the patch6.pack file there.
Now launch the game! You should be able to play without any issues whatsoever.

If you play without the hotfix for patch 6 you'll also be missing out on some other fixes... chiefly Russian generals not causing a CTD.
