6 1/2 Stack Battle: Whats Your Largest Battle?

I fought the largest battle i ever have in a TW game, technically 8 stacks but actually 6 1/2 units wise.

18000 men and your computer didn't die?

Only 80 units (4 stacks) at one time on the battlefield tho, but i am using ultra unit sizes too. It ran pretty slow but was still playable.

And its 18350 men exactly

I've had 4v1 siege battles, but I doubt my computer could handle more. I believe my Infanarie de Marine got over 600 kills.

By saying that they gave up, you mean enemy army retreated before it was all routed?

They still had several units left on the field but they all routed at the same time and retreated because they knew they couldnt win. They ended up with a little over a full stack left after the battle.

It was a gatling gun i had deployed on my left flank front line but for some reason it didnt start firing when the AI blitzed my right flank hard with a ton of cav supported by infantry. They almost broke through too but i managed to hold them back and then get reinforcements over there shore up my defenses.

I've started some pretty large battles, but the size of a battle seems to increase the chance of a crash, at least for me. I think in one case in NTW I had like, ten stacks in total in one small area. It was pretty hilarious. Crashed about ten minutes into the battle. Nothing that big in S2, though.

From a little while ago, and only 6 and 1/2 stacks as well b/c the AI couldnt bring in all its armies (it was also before they added 40 unit control, so it started with me being outnumbered 2:1 b/c there were 2 enemy factions)

Mine was in my first campaign as the Shimazu clan after the Realm Divide, I was holding the Asai clan province with one of my best army's and the Daimyo's son as the general and the Date flung three full armies at me each had near 1600 men(Ultra unit seize was not on) Mass collections of Spear ashigaru and No dachi samurai against my army of 1700 mainly of Katana and Bow samurai. In the battle two of their general's were killed by an arrow towere which was quite amusing and alot of their men died when they were climbing the walls and such so that helped when they got up and hit my full strength units.

After the battle about 3000 of their men were dead, about 1400 of mine were dead, best battle i have ever had in this game but my victory was short lived. Because afterwards two full Oda armies and another two Date armies attacked and cut my men down to the last with only like 500 of theirs dead so i was pissed at that. Lost Kyoto and five other territories before i could beat them back and win the campaign.

One game as shimazu I had 2220 men vs 3900 enemies. At the end of the battle I had 1000 men left they had none, since my army was mostly yari ashigaru and imported matchlock ashigaru and theres was mostly samurai once they contacted my ashigaru took heavy losses.
My exact army was 6 imported matchlocks, 6 yari ashigaru, 4 yumi ashigaru, 2 katana samurai and 2 generals.

Using DarthMod 1.5 units + ultra unit sizes, it was a 4v4 stacker on the shogun 2 campaign. I think it was my 15000 vs their 18000. I have a monster mega computer and it stuttered when I went to 2x speed.

My biggest was with seki. Asano had 3 stacks with date coming in with 2. I(shimazu) had three stacks with my vassals, the oda brought one.

It had 7 armies on the field and my computer was still able to run it. It lagged the whole time but it was playable. I won pretty easily becuase my high exp soldiers crushed the lower exp peasants.

EPIC! I have yet to play a battle that awesome

I tried the battle and it was EPIC, easily my biggest total war battle ever. It was a tribute to my graphics card which somehow maintained 40fps on ultra/high setting. CPU on the otherhand... I was lagging a little even at 40fps because my cpu couldn't handle all the animations lol.

It wasn't on Shogun 2, but on Empire (Or maybe NTW, I can't remember) I had 30,000 men in one battle.


It was with a mod, though, so I don't know if that counts.

22k Oda vs. 18k Ouchi. He had some 2 full stakcs of Samurai. I had pretty much 20k of Ashigaru. The only samurai units I had were 6 nagi sam and some 8 cavalry.
