The men had ships had set out from the port at Plankytown a good time back and the city of Qarth was coming into view. The sky was a clear blue and a light breeze rolled over the calm sea, the banner of the Crossed Spears, two crossed spears over a bright white moon. The men were ready to make port in Qarth they needed to stock up on food and water, and maybe some shade of the evening. Sand also wanted to let his men have some 'fun' before this dangerous trip ahead, but most importantly to visit a certaint red preist who is known to bless those traveling to Old Valyria. They might die on this trip but I'd he can help it they won't die of the doom. So he and his five hundred mercs pull into port at Qarth...

Once in port a few of the men go off to get food, others to get water, others to get some shade of the evening, the rest go off to the local whore house to have some fun before they risk their lives. Sand himself goes to meet this red priestess that can protect travelers from the doom..

After a number of hours all the men return to the ship food, water, and other supplies now safely stored in the ship. The men have had their fun at the whore houses and Sand has been properly blessed by the priestess with her words and her marks..

The ship now leaves Qarth heading for Old Valyria, to death or unimaginable glory..

OOC This would be a fine time for you to hop in and moderate the stuff till now had been normal stuff here out not do much..

As the crew departs, the Red Priestess warns that the last man to declare he would go to Valyria while seeking her blessing & shade-of-the-evening has not yet returned. Out at sea, the waters are rough, the wind strong and chilly, and the skies darker and darker the closer the crew sails toward Old Valyria. A feeling of increasing foreboding is gripping the crew...

Sand warns the Priestess he will be returning to prove her wrong.
As they moved closer to their destination, Sand continued staring out toward Old Valyria his long sword 'Heartsbane'(+3) slung at his waist dressed in his cloth armor the color of sand(+4) the straps blew back in the wind as the storm picked up. He was confident that he would live to see his home again, but with riches beyond measure and a fearsome reputation.. The men were frightened but Sand was a good leader and they continued on.. moving ever closer to Old Valyria.
