Look at this and tell me its not Mance.
It's not Mance. When I envision him, I leave out the double chin. How the is a man like Hinds going to come off as a champion over Tormund and Magnar Whats-his-face? How are any wildlings fat?

Mance is specifically described as unimpresive when compared to his more notorious men. He is more charisma and inteligence than brute force.
Do you propose that people who have lived that far north for so long are going to be slender? I'd imagine a people living that far north would mostly be short and somewhat beefier around the waste to maintain heat better. Low metabolisms too considering a weaker food supply.
But I'd say dressing this dude up in some wool and leather with a bit of makeup to make him younger and he could look formidable enough, even though that doesn't necessarily match Mance.
Basing that off these pictures of the man and doing a little imagining.

Rayder isn't from the far north originally.
Oh, me then. Hinds is still wrong though
Tormund was fat as well. Magnar was the freak really, tall and skinny with no hair.
Anyway finished the book while on vacation. Awesome book, but I can understand how the rest of the series will suck from this point on kinda. He did all the action in this.

Hind can't play without James Purefoy as his sidekick. I so laughed my ass off when watching John Carter. Posca, Caesar, Mark Anthony were all there!
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

Dany is always annoying but sadly the best chapters really. I'm putting off reading FfC as it lacks the storylines I care about it seems(the north and Essos, I don't care much about kingslanding). Besides I'm a bit sick of Martin's writing style at this point, need a break from it.
About the show, I'm wondering how they're going to split the book in two.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Ggrrrr, I saw him cycling through Dublin on Thursday, it took all of my steely will not to crush him with my car, also the car I was driving was my dad's merc, he might notice the scratches and blood stains, I could say: But I slew the despot king Geoffrey. I don't think that would fly. A man can dream though, a man can dream.
It's a rare talent that an actor can encourage such animosity. lol.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are so certain of themselves, but wiser people are full of doubts.

Like Hinds think he's terrific actor and pleased he's joining Game of Thrones, having not read the books I'm unfamiliar with the character he will be portraying so if i may ask is it a significant role in this series or just part of a side story?

Very significant role. He's king beyond the wall, basically elected ruler of the wildlings, and will figure somewhat prominently.
If I recall right he doesn't get all that much face time despite his importance however.
