Need some help - first time playing an Elder Scrolls Game

This game is amazing.

Heres something that i found amuzing: I was with the Stormcloaks and i had to go to some courier and intercept him for some documents, i "Took" his documents, took them to some guy to change them, and then i had to go to give some Legate said reports, and i thought "How am i supposed to deliver them?" and i just went to where that Legate was, and he thought i was Imperial because i was wearing a full set of Imperial Heavy Armor that i got from the Tutorial mission and so i was able to deliver them.

I didnt think that what armor you wear matters that much in conversations and encounters.

Of course some of the guards told me "You have some nerve walking in here dressed like an Imperial Legionnaire" but i thought that that would be it.

Supposedly we can superimpose the races of ATOIAF upon Europe..... in that case, if anything i would be some High Valyrian leftover, Braavosi or Volantis.
