    Default Antivirus?

What is the best antivirus to use at home for these days that is free? They are always in waves what is good and AVG is starting to piss me off so i'm wondering what I should switch to.
    I am far more reasonable.

Lack of discussion and instead simple attacks shows that you have been proven wrong.

I used AVG on my old computer, then Avira followed by Avast on my new one. Avast has been the one I've liked best so far.

I used to use AVG for years, but when I migrated to an SSD and reformatted my machine I switched to Avast. The reason is AVG seemed to be doing too much and kicking off too many processes for my liking. Avast seems better on resources but does have some annoying popups (for example, notifying me most of the time I start my machine it's updated itself) which I can't turn off without turning off all popups, which I obviously want in case it finds a damn virus.

I have been using Avast for years now (the last 2 years the paid version, as I managed to get a 2-year license extremely cheap), and I don't have any real complaints about it.

Another Avast user here. I've used it for the past 5 years or so on multiple computers and have never had a problem.

I had Avira but like Avast much better. I run Malwarebytes and Ad-Aware as well.

I don't like the newer versions of Avast, it's alot more bloated then it used to be and is a pain in the ass to get around.
I suppose i should have some sort of sig here.

Same here. Like Anton says it really depends on the type of websites we visit or when using someone else's USB drive or something, otherwise chances of having a virus\adware are quite low for people who don't visit shoddy websites.
