Stuck Crusade

I made the Pope call Crusade on London. After several turns a full stack of crusading Danish army appeared outside London. After 50 turns or so this very army still stands just beside London, never laying the siege. It seems like it's gonna be a permanent Crusade until the end of the game. A bug?

It could be a bug, it happens often, in vanilla and SS. I've seen it many times, once before Jerusalem there was a traffic jam because you had at least 6 European armies on Crusade there and they would stand in one place for turns and turns.

I think it's also possible that your defending units are too strong.

Crusader States, but I don't think it matters.

Not my. Crusade is against London, I play for Crusader States. London's garrison is half as strong as the Danish crusading army, nevertheless the Danish never bothered to lay siege on London, just standing adjacent to the city for about 50 turns.

no, it's not going to be a permanent crusade; if they have been wasting their time there for about 50 turns I guess they will never siege the target, so grab an army and join, take the target and end the crusade yourself; if you don't want a region so far from your homeland just sell it

So it is a bug after all? The point why I made the Pope call crusade on London is that I don't get involved and make Western Europe a bit busy. And when all is over I wanted to see who gets the city and how the new owner gonna defend it. Alas, no such pleasure. The only army that made it across the Channel is frozen just outside London. What a disappointment.
